Abstract

The present invention aims to provide a resource allocation method in a communication system that can effectively suppress a transmission delay. Provided is a resource allocation system in a communication system which includes a terminal 110 and a base station 100, wherein data is regularly generated at the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource. The terminal 110 includes a generated traffic monitoring unit 113 that monitors the data and, when a predetermined change occurs in the data, reports it to the base station. The base station 100 includes a resource management unit 102 that determines a resource allocation according to the report from the terminal.

Claims

1. A resource allocation method in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data is generated regularly in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

a monitoring step for monitoring the data, and a step for making a report to the base station if a predetermined change occurs in the data, in the terminal; and

an allocation step for determining resource allocation based on the report from the terminal in the base station.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the allocation step selects a resource that can transmit the data within a predetermined time period from generation of the data.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the monitoring step monitors at least one parameter of a generation period of the data, generation timing of the data, and a generation size of the data.

4. The method according to claim 3, wherein the predetermined change is that the amount of variation of at least one parameter being monitored becomes larger than a threshold of the parameter.

5. A resource allocation method in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data is generated regularly in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

a monitoring step for monitoring a transmission status of the data, and a report step for making a report to the base station if the transmission status does not satisfy a predetermined condition, in the terminal; and

an allocation step for determining resource allocation based on the report from the terminal, in the base station.

6. The method according to claim 5, wherein the allocation step changes at least one of transmission timing and a transmission rate.

7. The method according to claim 5, wherein the monitoring step monitors at least one parameter of a size of all data waiting to be transmitted and a transmission delay of the data.

8. The method according to claim 7, wherein the predetermined condition is that at least one parameter being monitored becomes larger than a threshold of the parameter.

9. The method according to claim 5, further comprising:

a step for measuring a usage rate of resources, and a step for reducing allocated resources if the usage rate is lower than a predetermined threshold, in the base station.

10. A resource allocation method in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data is generated in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

a monitoring step for monitoring a reception status of the data, a determination step for determining whether the data is generated regularly based on the reception status, and an allocation step for allocating a resource periodically based on the monitoring result if it is determined that the data is generated regularly, in the base station.

11. The method according to claim 10, wherein the determination step calculates a generation interval of the data and a generation size of the data based on the reception status of the data and determines whether each satisfies a predetermined condition.

12. The method according to claim 10, further comprising:

a step for measuring a usage rate of allocated resources, and a step for releasing the allocated resources if the usage rate is lower than a predetermined threshold, in the base station.

13. The method according to claim 10, further comprising:

a step for transferring a monitoring result of the reception status to a handover destination base station at time of handover, in the base station.

14. A resource allocation method in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data to be transmitted to the terminal arrives at the base station regularly, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the base station transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

a monitoring step for monitoring a transmission status of the data, and an allocation step for determining resource allocation based on the monitoring result if the transmission status does not satisfy a predetermined condition, in the base station.

15. A resource allocation method in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data to be transmitted to the terminal arrives at the base station, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the base station transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

a monitoring step for monitoring the data, a determination step for determining whether the data arrives regularly based on the monitoring result, and an allocation step for allocating the resource based on the monitoring result if it is determined that the data arrives regularly, in the base station.

16. A resource allocation system in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data is generated regularly in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, wherein

the terminal comprises a monitoring unit that monitors the data and makes a report to the base station if a predetermined change occurs in the data, and

the base station comprises an allocation unit that determines resource allocation based on the report.

17. The system according to claim 16, wherein the allocation unit selects a resource that can transmit the data within a predetermined time period from generation of the data.

18. The system according to claim 16, wherein the monitoring unit monitors at least one parameter of a generation period of the data, generation timing of the data, and a generation size of the data.

19. The system according to claim 18, wherein the predetermined change is that the amount of variation of at least one parameter being monitored becomes larger than a threshold of the parameter.

20. A resource allocation system in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data is generated regularly in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, wherein

the terminal comprises a monitoring unit that monitors a transmission status of the data and makes a report to the base station if the transmission status does not satisfy a predetermined condition, and

the base station comprises an allocation unit that determines resource allocation based on the report from the terminal.

21. The system according to claim 20, wherein the allocation unit changes at least one of transmission timing and a transmission rate.

22. The system according to claim 20, wherein the monitoring unit monitors at least one parameter of a size of all data waiting to be transmitted and a transmission delay of the data.

23. The system according to claim 22, wherein the predetermined condition is that at least one parameter being monitored becomes larger than a threshold of the parameter.

24. The system according to claim 20, wherein the base station further comprises a unit that measures a usage rate of resources, and a unit that reduces allocated resources if the usage rate is lower than a predetermined threshold.

25. A resource allocation system in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data is generated in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, wherein

the base station comprises a monitoring unit that monitors a reception status of the data, a determination unit that determines whether the data is generated regularly based on the reception status, and an allocation unit that allocates a resource based on the monitoring result if it is determined that the data is generated regularly.

26. The system according to claim 25, wherein the determination unit calculates a generation interval of the data and a generation size of the data based on the reception status of the data and determines whether each satisfies a predetermined condition.

27. The system according to claim 25, wherein the base station further comprises a measurement unit that measures a usage rate of allocated resources, and a release unit that releases the allocated resources if the usage rate is lower than a predetermined threshold.

28. The system according to claim 25, wherein the base station further comprises a transfer unit that transfers the monitoring result to a handover destination base station at time of handover.

29. A resource allocation system in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data to be transmitted to the terminal arrives at the base station regularly, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the base station transmits data by using the resource, wherein

the base station comprises a monitoring unit that monitors a transmission status of the data, and an allocation unit that determines resource allocation based on the monitoring result if the transmission status does not satisfy a predetermined condition.

30. A resource allocation system in a communication system including a terminal and the base station itself, where data to be transmitted to the terminal arrives at the base station, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the base station transmits data by using the resource, wherein

the base station comprises a determination unit that monitors the data and determines whether the data arrives regularly based on a monitoring result, and an allocation unit that periodically allocates a resource that can transmit the data within a predetermined time period from generation of the data based on the monitoring result if it is determined that the data arrives regularly.

31. A base station in a communication system including a terminal and a base station, where data is generated regularly in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

an allocation unit that determines resource allocation based on a report from the terminal indicating that a predetermined change occurs in the data.

32. The base station according to claim 31, wherein the allocation unit selects a resource that can transmit the data within a predetermined time period from generation of the data.

33. The base station according to claim 31, wherein the predetermined change is a change in at least one parameter of a generation period of the data, generation timing of the data, and a generation size of the data.

34. The base station according to claim 33, wherein the predetermined change is that the amount of variation of at least one parameter being monitored becomes larger than a threshold of the parameter.

35. A base station in a communication system including a terminal and the base station itself, where data is generated regularly in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

an allocation unit that determines resource allocation based on a report from the terminal indicating that a transmission status of the data does not satisfy a predetermined condition.

36. The base station according to claim 35, wherein the allocation unit changes at least one of transmission timing and a transmission rate.

37. The base station according to claim 35, wherein the transmission status is a status of at least one parameter of a size of all data waiting to be transmitted and a transmission delay of the data.

38. The base station according to claim 37, wherein the predetermined condition is that at least one parameter being monitored becomes larger than a threshold of the parameter.

39. The base station according to claim 35, further comprising:

a unit that measures a usage rate of the resource, and a unit that reduces allocated resources if the usage rate is lower than a predetermined threshold.

40. A base station in a communication system including a terminal and the base station itself, where data is generated in the terminal, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the terminal transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

a monitoring unit that monitors a reception status of the data, a determination unit that determines whether the data is generated regularly based on the reception status, and an allocation unit that allocates a resource based on the monitoring result if it is determined that the data is generated regularly.

41. The base station according to claim 40, wherein the determination unit calculates a generation interval of the data and a generation size of the data based on the reception status of the data and determines whether each satisfies a predetermined condition.

42. The base station according to claim 40, further comprising:

a measurement unit that measures a usage rate of allocated resources, and a release unit that releases the allocated resources if the usage rate is lower than a predetermined threshold.

43. The base station according to claim 40, further comprising:

a transfer unit that transfers the monitoring result to a handover destination base station at time of handover.

44. A base station in a communication system including a terminal and the base station itself, where data to be transmitted to the terminal arrives at the base station regularly, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the base station transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

a monitoring unit that monitors a transmission status of the data, and an allocation unit that determines resource allocation based on the monitoring result if the transmission status does not satisfy a predetermined condition.

45. A base station in a communication system including a terminal and the base station itself, where data to be transmitted to the terminal arrives at the base station, the base station allocates a resource to the terminal, and the base station transmits data by using the resource, comprising:

a monitoring unit that monitors the data, a determination unit that determines whether the data arrives regularly based on the monitoring result, and an allocation unit that periodically allocates a resource that can transmit the data within a predetermined time period from generation of the data based on the monitoring result if it is determined that the data arrives regularly.
