Abstract
The present invention relates to new and improved embodiments of systems and methods for using a “pen” input as a temporary pointer to highlight a portion of a document and having the “ink” disappear. In embodiments, a method and system for temporarily marking a portion of a document comprises sending a marking directive that produces a visual indicia on a document being viewed on two or more display devices connected over a network, waiting a period of time, and automatically erasing the visual indicia on the document being viewed on the two or more display devices.

21. A method for temporarily marking a portion of a document executed by a computer system having at least one memory and at least one processing unit, the method comprising:
-
sending the document from a first computer to a second computer, wherein the first computer and the second computer are connected via a peer-to-peer application over a network; displaying the document on a first display window of the first computer; generating a first marking directive at the first computer; sending the first marking directive from the first computer to the second computer; in response to the first marking directive, displaying a first visual indicia on the document in the first display window; receiving a second marking directive from the second computer; in response to receiving the second marking directive, displaying a second visual indicia on the document in the first display window; automatically erasing the first visual indicia on the document in the first display window after a first predetermined amount of time; and automatically erasing the second visual indicia on the document in the first display window after a second predetermined amount of time. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27)
