Abstract

Provided are a mobile terminal and method for providing a human network management service in the mobile terminal, the method including receiving human network data from a social network service site; checking and converting a schema of each received human network data into a predetermined schema; and updating human network data in the mobile terminal according to the converted schema.

Claims

1. A method for providing a human network management service in a mobile terminal, the method comprising the steps of:

receiving human network data from a social network service site;

converting a schema of each received human network data into a predetermined schema; and

updating human network data in the mobile terminal according to the converted schema.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the schema of each received human network data is compliant with at least one of a FACEBOOK®

F8-platform and a GOOGLE®

OPENSOCIAL®

platform.

3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the predetermined schema includes a Friend Of A Friend (FOAF) information.

4. The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising displaying the updated human network data.

5. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein displaying the updated human network data includes, when there is an acquaintance associated with multiple categories of acquaintances within the updated human network data, the multiple categories are displayed as overlapping each other.

6. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein a display size of each displayed category is determined according to a number of acquaintances belonging to the category.

7. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein, displaying the human network data includes displaying acquaintances of the updated human network data according to an order of friendship with a user.

8. The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising, upon receiving a human network extension request, acquiring human network data from a counterpart user corresponding to the human network extension request.

9. The method as claimed in claim 8, wherein, acquiring the human network data from the counterpart user includes

when human network data of the counterpart user does not exist in the mobile terminal, requesting the human network data of the counterpart user.

10. The method as claimed in claim 8, wherein the human network data of the counterpart user is requested from a mobile terminal of the counterpart user.

11. The method as claimed in claim 8, further comprising:

determining whether a common acquaintance exists in each of human network data of the user and the acquired human network data of the counterpart user; and

displaying the common acquaintance.

12. A mobile terminal for providing a human network management service, the mobile terminal comprising:

a human network relationship request/response module for receiving human network data from a social network service site;

a human network data conversion module for converting a schema of each received human network data into a predetermined schema and updating human network data in the mobile terminal according to the converted schema; and

a human network database for storing the updated human network data.

13. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 12, wherein the schema of each received human network data is compliant with at least one of a FACEBOOK®

F8-platform and a GOOGLE®

OPENSOCIAL®

platform.

14. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 12, wherein the predetermined schema includes a Friend Of A Friend (FOAF) information.

15. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 12, further comprising a user interface for displaying the updated human network data.

16. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 15, wherein displaying the updated human network data includes, when there is an acquaintance associated with multiple categories of acquaintances within the updated human network data, the multiple categories are displayed as overlapping each other.

17. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 16, wherein a display size of each displayed category is determined according to a number of acquaintances belonging to the category.

18. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 15, wherein, displaying the human network data includes displaying acquaintances of the updated human network data according to an order of friendship with a user.

19. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 12, wherein, upon receiving a human network extension request, the human network relationship request/response module acquires human network data from a counterpart user corresponding to the human network extension request.

20. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 19, wherein, acquiring the human network data from the counterpart user includes requesting human network data of the counterpart user when the human network data of the counterpart user does not exist in the mobile terminal.

21. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 19, wherein the human network data of the counterpart user is requested from a mobile terminal of the counterpart user.

22. The mobile terminal as claimed in claim 19, further comprising:

a common acquaintance search module for determining whether a common acquaintance exists in each of human network data of the user and the acquired human network data of the counterpart user and outputting the common acquaintance.
