Abstract

A system comprises a database configured to store a presentation, the presentation having a presentation identifier and comprising a sequence of discrete presentation items, a first discrete presentation item of the plurality being associated with first content with first content type and a second discrete presentation item of the sequence being associated with second content of a second content type. A presenter interface is configured to receive viewer identification information identifying a viewer to which the presentation is to be made accessible. An access controller is configured to create an access credential using both the presentation identifier and the viewer identification information, the access credential to enable access to the presentation by a viewer computer system. A tracker configured to generate access history data pertaining to access by the viewer computer system to each of the sequence of discrete presentation items. The presenter interface is further configured to present the access history data to a presenter computer system.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

storing a presentation at a presentation server, the presentation having a presentation identifier and comprising a sequence of discrete presentation items, a first discrete presentation item of the plurality being associated with first content with first content type and a second discrete presentation item of the sequence being associated with second content of a second content type;

receiving viewer identification information identifying a viewer to which the presentation is to be made accessible via the presentation server;

creating an access credential using both the presentation identifier and the viewer identification information, the access credential to enable access to the presentation by a viewer computer system via the presentation server;

generating access history data pertaining to access to each of the sequence of discrete presentation items at the presentation server; and

presenting the access history data to a presenter computer system.

The method of claim 1, wherein the presentation server facilitates both synchronous presentation and asynchronous presentation of the presentation to the viewer computer system, and the generating of the access history data for each of the sequence of discrete presentation items with respect to both the synchronous and asynchronous presentation by the presentation server.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the presentation is associated with a group of presenter users, and wherein the access history data is generated with respect to the group of presenter users.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the access credential is a location identifier for a network location at which presentation is accessible via a network.

5. The method of claim 3, wherein the location identifier is a Uniform Location Identifier (URL).

6. The method of claim 1, including providing the access credential to a viewer computer system from the presentation server.

7. The method of claim 1, including providing the access credential to a presenter for communication to the viewer.

8. The method of claim 1, including receiving a selection from a presenter computer system of the presentation from among the plurality of presentations stored at the presentation server.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the viewer identification information is received from the presenter.

10. The method of claim 1, including receiving the access credentials from the viewer computer system and, responsive to receiving the access credentials, presenting the sequence of presentation items to the viewer computer system, according to a determinable sequence via the presentation server.

11. The method of claim 10, comprising presenting an index to the sequence of presentation items to the viewer computer system, receiving a selection input from viewer computer system of a current presentation item of the sequence of presentation items, and responsive to the selection input, presenting the selective presentation item to the viewer computer system.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the index to the sequence of presentation items comprises a sequence of thumbnail images corresponding to the sequence of presentation items.

13. The method of claim 11, comprising determining that the sequence of presentation items have been presented to the viewer computer system, and selectively presenting the index to the sequence of presentation items to the viewer based on the determination.

14. The method of claim 1, comprising presenting a specific presentation item of the sequence to the viewer computer system and pre-loading a further presentation item of the sequence to a viewer computer system prior to the display thereof.

15. The method of claim 1, including receiving, from the viewer computer system, a download request to download a copy of the presentation from the presentation server to the viewer computer system, and responsive to the download request, automatically creating a downloadable copy of the presentation as a single file.

16. The method of claim 1, comprising monitoring access by the viewer computer system to the presentation, generating the access history data reflective of the access by the viewer computer system, and communicating the access history data to the presenter computer system.

17. The method of claim 15, wherein the access history data includes at least one of an estimated geographic location of the viewer computer system, and date and time information of the access by the viewer computer system.

18. The method of claim 15, wherein the access history data indicates access time duration for each of presentation item of the sequence of discrete presentation items.

19. The method of claim 1, including receiving, at the presentation server, modification data to modify the presentation, and modifying the presentation using the modification data while retaining the access credential as valid to access the presentation.

20. The method of claim 1, wherein the modification data is to substitute the presentation with a further presentation stored at the presentation server.

22. The system of claim 20, comprising a presentation output module configured to facilitate both synchronous presentation and asynchronous presentation of the presentation to the viewer computer system, and wherein the tracker is configured to generate the access history data for each of the sequence of discrete presentation items with respect to both the synchronous and asynchronous presentation.

23. The system of claim 20, wherein the presentation is associated with a group of presenter users, and wherein the tracker configured to generate the access history data with respect to the group of presenter users.

24. The system of claim 20, wherein the access controller is configured to generate the access credential in the form of a location identifier for a network location at which presentation is accessible via a network.

25. The system of claim 23, wherein the location identifier is a Uniform Location Identifier (URL).

26. The system of claim 20, including a viewer interface configured to provide the access credential to the viewer computer system.

27. The system of claim 20, wherein the presenter interface is configured to provide the access credential to a presenter computer system for communication to the viewer computer system.

28. The system of claim 20, wherein the database is configured to store a plurality of presentations, and the system comprises a presenter interface to receive a selection from a presenter computer system of the presentation from among the plurality of presentations stored in the database to present to the viewer computer system.

29. The system of claim 20, wherein the presenter interface is configured to receive the viewer identification information from the presenter computer system.

30. The system of claim 20, wherein the presenter interface is configured to receive the access credentials from the viewer computer system and wherein the system includes a presentation output module, responsive to receiving the access credentials, configured to present the sequence of discrete presentation items to the viewer computer system, according to a determinable sequence.

The system of claim 29, wherein the presentation output module is configured to present an index to the sequence of discrete presentation items to the viewer computer system, the viewer interface is configured to receive a selection input from viewer computer system of a current presentation item of the sequence of presentation items, and the presentation output module is configured, responsive to the selection input, to present the selected presentation item to the viewer computer system.

32. The system of claim 30, wherein the index to the sequence of presentation items comprises a sequence of thumbnail images corresponding to the sequence of presentation items.

The system of claim 30, wherein the presentation output module is configured to determine that the sequence of presentation items have been presented to the viewer computer system, and selectively to present the index to the sequence of presentation items to the viewer based on the determination.

34. The system of claim 20, wherein the presentation output module is configured to present a specific presentation item of the sequence to the viewer computer system and to pre-load a further presentation item of the sequence to a viewer computer system prior to the display thereof.

35. The system of claim 20, comprising a viewer interface to receive, from the viewer computer system, a download request to download a copy of the presentation to the viewer computer system, and wherein the presentation output module, responsive to the download request, is configured to generate a downloadable copy of the presentation as a single file.

36. The system of claim 20, wherein the tracker is configured to monitor access by the viewer computer system to the presentation, and to generate the access history data reflective of the access by the viewer computer system, and the presenter interface is configured to present the access history data to the presenter computer system.

37. The system of claim 35, wherein the access history data includes at least one of an estimated geographic location of the viewer computer system, and date and time information of the access by the viewer computer system.

38. The system of claim 35, wherein the access history data indicates access time duration for each of presentation item of the sequence of discrete presentation items.

39. The system of claim 20, wherein the presenter interface is configured to receive, modification data to modify the presentation, the system further comprising a presentation editing module to modify the presentation using the modification data while retaining the access credential as valid to access the presentation.

40. The system of claim 20, wherein the modification data is to substitute the presentation with a further presentation stored at the presentation server.

21. A system comprising:

a database configured to store a presentation, the presentation having a presentation identifier and comprising a sequence of discrete presentation items, a first discrete presentation item of the plurality being associated with first content with first content type and a second discrete presentation item of the sequence being associated with second content of a second content type;

a presenter interface configured to receive viewer identification information identifying a viewer to which the presentation is to be made accessible;

an access controller configured to create an access credential using both the presentation identifier and the viewer identification information, the access credential to enable access to the presentation by a viewer computer system; and

a tracker configured to generate access history data pertaining to access by the viewer computer system to each of the sequence of discrete presentation items;

wherein the presenter interface is further configured to present the access history data to a presenter computer system.
