Abstract

A process is disclosed for enabling an operator to exercise on an exercise device. The process includes measuring a range of movement of the operator during exercising on the exercise device for generating an electronic range of movement data. A strength is measured of the operator during exercising on the exercise device for generating an electronic strength data. An electronic program is designed based on the electronic range of movement data and the electronic strength data. The electronic program is stored in an electronic media. The electronic program is displayed as a moving scale on a screen for instructing the operator to exercise at the same rate as the moving scale to complete the exercise in a timely and controlled matter.

Claims

1. A process of enabling an operator to exercise on an exercise device, comprising the steps of

measuring a range of movement of the operator during exercising on the exercise device for generating an electronic range of movement data;

measuring a strength of the operator during exercising on the exercise device for generating an electronic strength data;

designing an electronic program based on said electronic range of movement data and said electronic strength data;

storing said electronic program in an electronic media; and

displaying said electronic program as a moving scale on a screen for instructing the operator to exercise at the same rate as said moving scale to complete the exercise in a timely and controlled matter.

2. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of measuring a weight of the operator during seating on the exercise device for generating an electronic weight data;

and

designing an electronic program based on said electronic weight data.

3. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of measuring a heart rate of the operator during contacting the exercise device for generating an electronic heart rate data;

and

designing an electronic program based on said heart rate data.

4. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of measuring a body fat index of the operator during contacting the exercise device for generating a fat index data;

and

designing an electronic program based on said fat index data.

5. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of inputting a numerical value into the exercise device for generating an electronic age data;

and

designing an electronic program based on said electronic age data.

6. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of inputting a numerical value into the exercise device for generating an electronic height data;

and

designing an electronic program based on said electronic height data.

7. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of generating a performance data based upon the effectiveness of the operator in maintaining the same exercise rate as said moving scale on said screen.

8. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of generating a performance data based upon the effectiveness of the operator in maintaining the same exercise rate as said moving scale on said screen;

and

storing said performance data in an electronic media.

9. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of generating a performance data based upon the effectiveness of the operator in maintaining the same exercise rate as said moving scale on said screen;

and

storing said performance data in a portable electronic storage device through an electronic wire link.

10. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of generating a performance data based upon the effectiveness of the operator in maintaining the same exercise rate as said moving scale on said screen;

and

storing said performance data in a network electronic storage device through an electronic wireless link.

11. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of displaying said electronic program as an operator pace bar for indicating the rate of displacement of a positive loading motion and a negative loading motion of the operator on the exercising device.

12. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of displaying said electronic program as a maximum range of movement for instructing the operator to terminate a positive loading motion.

13. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of displaying said electronic program as a minimum range of movement for instructing the operator to terminate a negative loading motion.

14. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of displaying said electronic program as a load value to be displaced.

15. A process of enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a step of displaying an advertisement on said screen for marketing goods and services.

16. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise, comprising:

a plurality of exercise machines for enabling the operator to exercise;

each of said plurality of exercise machines having an exercise electric storage for storing data relative to the exercise of the operator on said plurality of exercise machines respectively;

a data transfer device having a transfer electric storage and electrically coupling to said plurality of exercise machines for transmitting and receiving said data between said plurality of exercise machines and said data transfer device;

a local computer having a local electric storage for storing said data relative to the exercise of the operator on said plurality of exercise machines respectively;

a local link electrically coupling said data transfer device to said local computer for transmitting and receiving said data between said data transfer device and said local computer;

a remote computer having a remote electric storage for storing said data relative to the exercise of the operator on said plurality of exercise machines respectively; and

a network electrically coupling said local computer to said remote computer for transmitting and receiving said data between said local computer and said remote computer.

17. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein a industry standard communication protocol electrically couples said plurality of exercise machines and said data transfer device.

18. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein said plurality of exercise machines includes a strength training exercise.

19. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein said plurality of exercise machines includes a cardiovascular training exercise.

20. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein said data transfer device includes a removable solid state memory device.

21. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein said local computer includes an electronic kiosk.

22. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein said local computer includes a personal computer.

23. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein said remote computer includes a web server.

24. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein said network includes a world wide web.

25. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 16, wherein said data includes updated software, updated firmware, exercise performance, exercise history, custom reports, alerts, service requests and/or advertisements.

26. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise, comprising:

a plurality of exercise machines for enabling the operator to exercise;

each of said plurality of exercise machines having an exercise electric storage for storing data relative to the exercise of the operator on said plurality of exercise machines respectively;

a remote computer having a remote electric storage for storing said data relative to the exercise of the operator on said plurality of exercise machines respectively;

a network for transmitting and receiving said data from remote computer; and

a wireless link electrically coupling said plurality of exercise machines to said network for transmitting and receiving said data between said plurality of exercise machines and said remote computer.

27. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 26, wherein a industry standard communication protocol electrically couples said plurality of exercise machines and said wireless link.

28. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 26, wherein said plurality of exercise machines includes a strength training exercise.

29. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 26, wherein said plurality of exercise machines includes a cardiovascular training exercise.

30. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 26, wherein said wireless link includes a wireless local area network.

31. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 26, wherein said remote computer includes a web server.

32. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 26, wherein said network includes a world wide web.

33. An electrical network for enabling an operator to exercise as set forth in claim 26, wherein said data includes updated software, updated firmware, exercise performance, exercise history, custom reports, alerts, service requests and/or advertisements.

34. An apparatus for enabling an operator to exercise, comprising:

a frame;

a plurality of weights positioned on said frame for providing a resistive force;

a press positioned on said frame for displacement by the operator;

a linkage joining said load with said press for displacing said load upon displacement of said press by the operator;

an user interface for entering and receiving data;

a rotary optical encoder positioned on said frame for measuring a displacement and a speed of said linkage;

a weight encoder positioned on said frame for determining the number of said plurality of weights that will be displaced upon said press being displaced by the operator;

a processor electrically coupled with said user interface and said rotary optical encoder and said weight encoder for processing data received and transmitted between said processor and said user interface and said rotary optical encoder and said weight encoder;

a removable solid state memory device electrically coupled with said processor for transmitting data between said removable solid state memory device and said processor; and

a remote computer electrically coupled with said removable solid state memory device for processing and storing data received and transmitted between said removable solid state memory device and said remote computer.

35. An apparatus for enabling an operator to exercise, comprising:

a frame;

a plurality of weights positioned on said frame for providing a resistive force;

a press positioned on said frame for displacement by the operator;

a linkage joining said load with said press for displacing said load upon displacement of said press by the operator;

a user interface for entering and receiving data;

a rotary optical encoder positioned on said frame for measuring a displacement and a speed of said linkage;

a weight encoder positioned on said frame for determining the number of said plurality of weights that will be displaced upon said press being displaced by the operator;

a processor electrically coupled with said user interface and said rotary optical encoder and said weight encoder for processing data received and transmitted between said processor and said user interface and said rotary optical encoder and said weight encoder;

a remote computer electrically coupled with said removable solid state memory device for processing and storing data received and transmitted between said removable solid state memory device and said remote computer; and

a wireless link electrically coupled said processor to said remote computer for transmitting data between said processor and said remote computer.
