Abstract

A graphical user interface includes a first display area configured to display a first image. The first image is associated with a capture time. The graphical user interface also includes a second display area configured to display a second image and a third display area configured to display a third image. The graphical user interface further includes a user input device.

Claims

1. A graphical user interface comprising:

a first display area configured to display a first image, wherein the first image is associated with a capture time;

a second display area configured to display a second image;

a third display area configured to display a third image;

a first user input device; and

a second user input device operable to capture the first image as a snapshot image.

2. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the second image is associated with a time prior to the capture time.

3. The graphical user interface of claim 2 wherein the second display area is configured to display a plurality of additional images associated with times prior to the capture time.

4. The graphical user interface of claim 3 wherein the second display area is positioned above the first display area.

5. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the third image is associated with a time subsequent to the capture time.

6. The graphical user interface of claim 5 wherein the third display area is configured to display a plurality of additional images associated with times subsequent to the capture time.

7. The graphical user interface of claim 6 wherein the third display area is positioned below the first display area.

8. The graphical user interface of claim 1 further comprising a fourth display area configured to display one or more snapshot images.

9. The graphical user interface of claim 8 wherein the one or more snapshot images comprise a stack of images arrayed in a temporal order.

10. The graphical user interface of claim 8 further comprising a user selection box, wherein a snapshot image is displayed in the fourth display area in response to actuation of the user selection box.

11. The graphical user interface of claim 8 wherein the fourth display area is positioned horizontally to the side of the first display area.

12. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the first user input device comprises a scrollbar.

13. The graphical user interface of claim 12 wherein the scrollbar comprises a scroll box and a timestamp associated with a position of the scroll box.

14. A graphical user interface for video editing, the graphical user interface comprising:

a first display area configured to display a first image, wherein the first display area has a first side and a second side opposing the first side and wherein the first image is associated with a capture time;

a second display area disposed on the first side and configured to display a set of sequential images associated with capture times previous to the capture time; and

a third display area disposed on the second side and configured to display a plurality of sequential images associated with capture times subsequent to the capture time.

15. The graphical user interface of claim 14 wherein the first side is a top side of the first display area and the second side is a bottom side of the first display area.

16. The graphical user interface of claim 14 further comprising a fourth display area configured to display one or more snapshot images.

17. The graphical user interface of claim 16 wherein the fourth display area is adjacent to a third side of the first display area.

18. The graphical user interface of claim 16 further comprising a user input button configured to display the first image in the fourth display area in response to actuation of the user input button.

19. The graphical user interface of claim 14 wherein the set of sequential images associated with capture times subsequent to the capture time are characterized by decreasing image size as a function of capture time.

20. The graphical user interface of claim 14 wherein the set of sequential images associated with capture times subsequent to the capture time are characterized by an increasing time difference between adjacent images in the set as a function of capture time.

21. A graphical user interface comprising:

a first display area configured to display a first image, wherein the first image is associated with a capture time;

a second display area configured to display a second image;

a third display area configured to display a third image;

a fourth display area configured to display one or more snapshot images; and

a user input device.

22. The graphical user interface of claim 21 wherein the second image is associated with a time prior to the capture time and the third image is associated with a time subsequent to the capture time.

23. The graphical user interface of claim 21 wherein the second display area is configured to display a plurality of additional images associated with times prior to the capture time and the third display area is configured to display a plurality of additional images associated with times subsequent to the capture time.

24. The graphical user interface of claim 21 wherein the second display area is positioned above the first display area and the third display area is positioned below the first display area.

25. The graphical user interface of claim 21 wherein the one or more snapshot images comprise a stack of images arrayed in a temporal order.

26. The graphical user interface of claim 21 wherein the fourth display area is positioned horizontally to the side of the first display area.
