Abstract

An exterior mirror is proposed, which is configured with an LED as a signal light in the simplest manner. A contact body at the LED facilitates simple assembly and simple contacting of the LED.

Claims

1. An exterior mirror comprising a mirror head and a mirror base and the associated fairings comprised of mirror housing, mirror frame and mirror base fairing, which exterior mirror comprises at least one opening for inserting an optical indicator, wherein the mirror housing and/or the mirror frame and/or the mirror base fairing form at least one receiver, into which a respective LED with a contact body is inserted, wherein the LED protrudes into the opening of the mirror housing and/or the mirror frame and/or the mirror base fairing.

2. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the contact body is produced by integrally molding or casting at least about the contacts of the LED and of the cable.

3. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the contact body is formed through integrally molding or casting about the contacts of the LED of the cable and of the plastic dome of the LED.

4. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the opening in the exterior mirror is filled by the plastic dome of the LED in outward direction.

5. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the opening in the exterior mirror is filled in outward direction by the face of the contact body.

6. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the opening does not comprise a light pane.

7. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the size of the contact body is adapted to the receiver between mirror housing and mirror edge.

8. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the receiver comprises guide elements for positioning the contact body.

9. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the receiver comprises at least one component for producing a clip connection.

10. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the receiver comprises at least one snap-in recess.

11. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the contact body is cylindrical.

12. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the contact body is cuboid.

13. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the contact body comprises ears as components of a clip connection.

14. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the at least one LED is used as signal light.

15. An exterior mirror according to claim 1, wherein the at least one LED is used as a warning display for a driver assistant system.
