1. A method for wireless communications, comprising:
- monitoring, by an apparatus, a medium in a contention access period (CAP) for availability of the medium for data transmission by the apparatus;
after determining the medium is available for data transmission by the apparatus, obtaining the medium by transmitting, from the apparatus, a common mode signaling (CMS) frame in the CAP; and
transmitting, from the apparatus, at least one data frame to another apparatus in the CAP over a wireless channel of the medium after obtaining the medium.
