Abstract

A network component comprising a communications portion and a processor portion is disclosed. The communications portion may be configured to detect a signal indicative of a call associated with a mobile device. The processor portion may be configured to detect at least one record cue in the signal. The processor portion may be also be configured to respectively capture at least one portion of the call upon the at least one record cue being detected. The processor portion may also be configured to respectively associate at least one identifier with the at least one captured portion of the call. The identifier may respectively identify the at least one captured portion of the call.

Claims

1. A network component, comprising:

a communications portion configured to;

detect a signal indicative of a call associated with a mobile device; and

a processor portion configured to;

detect at least one record cue in the signal;

respectively capture at least one portion of the call upon detection of the at least one record cue; and

respectively associate at least one identifier with the at least one captured portion of the call, the at least one identifier respectively identifying the at least one captured portion of the call.

2. The network component of claim 1, wherein the at least one record cue comprises a verbally spoken word or words, spoken during the call.

3. The network component of claim 2, wherein the verbally spoken at least one record cue includes at least one of quantity, price, unit, street address, state, post office code, or item number.

4. The network component of claim 1, wherein the processing portion is configured to capture the at least one portion of the call by at least one of recording the at least one portion of the call or storing the at least one portion of the call in a memory.

5. The network component of claim 1, wherein the processing portion associates an identifier with a respective captured portion of the call by at least one of:

inserting an identifier into a respective captured portion of the call;

creating an index file indicating a correspondence of an identifier to a respective captured portion of the call;

or

creating a hyperlink to a respective captured portion of the call.

6. The network component of claim 1, the processor portion configured to generate a report from information extracted from the at least one record cue and the respective at least one captured portion of the call.

7. The network component of claim 1, the processor portion configured to:

detect, in the signal, a command cue indicative of a destination address;

determine a geographic location of the mobile device; and

provide a geographic path between the geographic location of the mobile device and the destination address.

8. A method of extracting data from a call, the method comprising:

detecting a signal indicative of a call associated with a mobile device;

detecting at least one record cue in the signal;

respectively capture at least one portion of the call upon detection of the at least one record cue; and

respectively associate at least one identifier with the at least one captured portion of the call, the at least one identifier respectively identifying the at least one captured portion of the call.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

converting the at least one captured portion of the call into first data; and

writing the first data into a data file,

wherein the at least one identifier further identifies the first data in the data file.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:

detecting at least one report cue;

extracting data corresponding to the at least one report cue from the data file; and

writing the extracted data corresponding to the at least one report cue into at least one report file.

11. A mobile device, comprising:

a communications portion configured to;

detect a signal indicative of a call associated with the mobile device; and

a processor portion configured to;

detect at least one record cue in the signal;

respectively capture at least one portion of the call upon detection of the at least one record cue; and

respectively associate at least one identifier with the at least one captured portion of the call, the at least one identifier respectively identifying the at least one captured portion of the call.

12. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the at least one record cue comprises a verbally spoken word, spoken during the call.

13. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the processing portion is configured to capture the at least one portion of the call by at least one of recording the at least one portion of the call or storing the at least one portion of the call in a memory.

14. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the processing portion associates an identifier with a respective captured portion of the call by at least one of:

inserting an identifier into a respective captured portion of the call;

creating an index file indicating a correspondence of an identifier to a respective captured portion of the call;

or

creating a hyperlink to a respective captured portion of the call.

15. The mobile device of claim 11, the processor portion configured to generate a report from information extracted from the at least one record cue and the respective at least one captured portion of the call.

16. The mobile device of claim 11, the processor portion configured to:

detect, in the signal, a command cue indicative of a destination address;

determine a geographic location of the mobile device; and

provide a geographic path between the geographic location of the mobile device and the destination address.

17. The mobile device of claim 12, wherein the verbally spoken at least one record cue includes at least one of quantity, price, unit, street address, state, post office code, or item number.

18. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the processor portion is further configured to:

detect at least one report cue;

extract information corresponding to the at least one report cue from the at least one captured portion of the call upon detection of the at least one report cue; and

write the extracted data corresponding to the first report cue into at least one report file.

19. The mobile device of claim 18, wherein the at least one report cue comprises a verbally spoken word or words, spoken during or after the call.

20. The mobile device of claim 18, wherein the at least one report cue corresponds to at least one of a product order, a telephone number, an electronic business card, or a destination address.
