Abstract

A first embodiment of the present invention relates to systems and methods for determining a priority for a set of alert triggers and performing additional processing based on the determined priority. In some embodiments, additional processing may include generating and sending of alert messages. In other embodiments, additional processing may further include determining that the generating and sending of alert messages are to be delayed until a later time. In yet other embodiments, additional processing may include determining that no alert message is to be generated and sent. A second embodiment of the present invention relates to systems and methods for dynamically selecting a delivery channel and generating an alert message for the selected delivery channel. In some embodiments, the alert message may be formatted based on the selected delivery channel. According to one embodiment, the alert message may be generated based on a compact protocol format. When the alert message is received by a mobile device, the mobile device may use the alert message to generate a second alert message.

Claims

1. An alerts messaging system comprising:

a database comprising of one or more alert triggers and a server computer coupled to the database, wherein the server computer comprises a processor and a computer-readable storage medium coupled to the processor, the computer readable storage medium comprising code executable by the processor for implementing a method comprising;

receiving transaction data for a transaction;

accessing the database comprising the one or more alert triggers;

determining that a set of alert triggers applies to the transaction data;

determining a priority of the alert triggers in the set of alert triggers; and

performing additional processing based on the priority of the alert triggers.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein performing additional processing further comprises selecting one or more alert message templates based on the trigger in the set of triggers with the highest priority.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein performing additional processing further comprises generating one or more alert messages using the one or more alert message templates using the server computer.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the one or more alert messages include information regarding a recent transaction.

5. The system of claim 3, wherein the one or more alert messages include information regarding each of the triggers in the set of triggers.

6. The system of claim 3, wherein performing additional processing further comprises sending the one or more alert messages to one or more user devices.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the alerts messaging system is coupled to a payment processing network having an enrollment database that contains a list of account numbers that are enrolled in a messaging service.

8. The system of claim 7, wherein if an authorization request is received by the payment processing network for an account number enrolled in the messaging service, the transaction data is sent to the server computer.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein an issuer device is configured to access the database to set the priority for each trigger.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein a user device is configured to access the database and set the priority for each trigger.

11. A method comprising:

receiving transaction data for a transaction;

accessing a database comprising one or more triggers;

determining that a set of triggers applies to the transaction data;

determining a priority of the triggers in the set of triggers; and

performing additional processing based on the priority of the triggers.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein performing additional processing further comprises selecting one or more alert message templates based on the trigger in the set of triggers with the highest priority.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein performing additional processing further comprises generating one or more alert messages using the one or more alert message templates.

14. The method of claim 11, wherein receiving the transaction data for a transaction, accessing a database comprising one or more triggers, determining that a set of triggers applies to the transaction data, determining a priority of the triggers in the set of triggers, and performing additional processing based on the priority of the triggers are performed by one or more software applications stored in one or more computer-readable medium housed in the server computer.

15. The method of claim 11, wherein performing additional processing further comprises sending the one or more alert messages to one or more user devices.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the one or more alert messages are sent at a time based on the trigger in the set of triggers with the highest priority.

17. A method comprising:

performing a transaction associated with an account number of a user; and

receiving a one or more alert messages at a one or more user devices;

wherein the one or more alert messages are generated by a server computer coupled to a database;

wherein the database comprises of a one or more triggers;

wherein the one or more alert messages are generated using one or more templates selected based upon a trigger in a set of triggers with the highest priority.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein each of the one or more user devices receives one alert message.

19. The method of claim 17, wherein the one or more alert messages include information related to each trigger in the set of triggers.

20. The method of claim 17, wherein the priority for each trigger is set by a user device.
