Abstract
A call set-up method is described for use in a communication network, in particular a third generation mobile communication network. First, it is attempted to set-up a call between a call originator and a call destination using a communication connection of a first type, for example Voice over IP. In case that it is determined that the call cannot be set-up using the communication connection of the first type, a node in the communication network sets up the call to both the call originator and the call destination using a communication connection of a second type, for example Circuit Switched Adaptive Multi Rate voice call.
