a transceiver unit, comprising;
a housing adapted to be connected to a proximal end of the pressure sensor wire; and
a first communication module within the housing adapted to wirelessly communicate by a communication signal with an external second communication module in order to transfer pressure information to the external second communication module; and
wherein the communication signal, including pressure sensor values, is generated by the transceiver unit and transferred as a data stream, andwherein the housing is configured to remain external to the patient'"'"'s body.
