Abstract

A reversible pocket wrap is a garment comprising a pocket and a band on a loop. The reversible pocket wrap is made of a base piece of stretchable material such that the reversible pocket wrap fits well to a subject around body parts. The pocket is preferably in square shape disposed in an angle such that two lower edges are closed to form a v-shaped container to hold articles. An opening to the pocket is on the outside of the garment. A reversed opening is on the inside of the garment such that the pocket is accessible from the outside when the garment is reversed. The reversible pocket wrap is worn about the head and/or the neck. The reversible pocket wrap is used as a pocket, a band, a warmer, a scarf, a visor, etc.

Claims

1. A reversible pocket wrap comprising:

a pocket and a band on a loop formed from a base piece, a first pocket area at a first end of the base piece and a second pocket area at a second end of the base piece and a third area for forming the band positioned between the first and second pocket area,

wherein the first pocket area has a first edge, a second edge and a third edge, a first face and a second opposite face and the second pocket area has a first edge, a second edge and a third edge, respectively corresponding to the first edge, the second edge and the third edge of the first pocket area, a first face and a second opposite face corresponding to the first pocket area, and

wherein the second edge of the first pocket area is attached to the third edge of the second pocket area and the third edge of the first pocket area is attached to the second edge of the second pocket area such that the first face of the first pocket area is attached to the second opposite face of the second pocket area.

2. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 1,

wherein the base piece has a direction that is stretchable along the base piece such that the loop is easily wearable and fitted around a subject,

wherein the pocket has an opening parallel to the direction such that the pocket is easily accessible by stretching the opening and such that the pocket enables stably holding articles inside the pocket, and

wherein the pocket has a reversed opening, the reversed opening being symmetrical to the opening on the inside such that the reversed opening is used analogously to the opening when the loop is reversed.

3. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 2, wherein a band length along the direction of said band is determined by a measurement of a body part of the subject.

4. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 3, wherein the measurement of the body part of the subject is the neck circumference.

5. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 4, wherein the first edge, the second edge, and the third edge of the first pocket area and the first edge, the second edge, and the third edge of the second pocket area have same length of a pocket width (P) at both the first end and the second end of the base piece, and wherein the band has a band width (B) that is a half of the pocket width, the band width resulting from gradually decreasing the pocket width (P) in a predefined angle symmetrically on both sides of the band.

6. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 5, wherein the base piece is made of a knitted yarn by garter stitch.

7. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 5, wherein the pocket is right-handed, wherein the opening is on the right side of the reversible pocket wrap.

8. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 7, wherein the reversible pocket wrap is worn about the neck of the subject to provide at least one functionality chosen from the group consisting of a pocket, a scarf, a warmer, an accessory, and a combination thereof.

9. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 7, wherein the reversible pocket wrap is worn about the head of the subject to provide at least one functionality chosen from the group consisting of a visor, a pocket, a warmer, an accessory, a band, and a combination thereof.

10. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 7, wherein the reversible pocket wrap is worn about the head of the subject by pulling down the reversible pocket wrap to the neck and subsequently reversing the reversible pocket wrap upward to the head to provide at least one functionality chosen from the group consisting of a visor, a pocket, a warmer, an accessory, a band, and a combination thereof.

11. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 5, wherein the pocket is left-handed, wherein the first pocket area forms an outer layer of the pocket, and wherein the second pocket area forms an inner layer of the pocket.

12. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 11, wherein the reversible pocket wrap is worn about the neck of the subject to provide at least one functionality chosen from the group consisting of a pocket, a scarf, a warmer, an accessory, and a combination thereof.

13. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 11, wherein the reversible pocket wrap is worn about the head of the subject to provide at least one functionality chosen from the group consisting of a visor, a pocket, a warmer, an accessory, a band, and a combination thereof.

14. The reversible pocket wrap of claim 11, wherein the reversible pocket wrap is worn about the head of the subject by pulling down the reversible pocket wrap to the neck and subsequently reversing the reversible pocket wrap upward to the head to provide at least one functionality chosen from the group consisting of a visor, a pocket, a warmer, an accessory, a band, and a combination thereof.

15. A reversible pocket wrap comprising:

a pocket and a band on a loop formed from a base piece, a first pocket area at a first end of the base piece and a second pocket area at a second end of the base piece and a third area for forming the band positioned between the first and second pocket area,

wherein the first pocket area has a first edge, a second edge and a third edge, a first face and a second opposite face and the second pocket area has a first edge, a second edge and a third edge, respectively corresponding to the first edge, the second edge and the third edge of the first pocket area, a first face and a second opposite face corresponding to the first pocket area,

wherein the second edge of the first pocket area is attached to the third edge of the second pocket area and the third edge of the first pocket area is attached to the second edge of the second pocket area such that the first face of the first pocket area is attached to the second opposite face of the second pocket area,

wherein the base piece has a direction that is stretchable along the base piece such that the loop is easily wearable and fitted around a subject,

wherein the pocket has an opening parallel to the direction such that the pocket is easily accessible by stretching the opening and such that the pocket enables stably holding articles inside the pocket,

wherein the pocket has a reversed opening, the reversed opening being symmetrical to the opening on the inside such that the reversed opening is used analogously to the opening when the loop is reversed,

wherein the first edge, the second edge, and the third edge of the first pocket area and the first edge, the second edge, and the third edge of the second pocket area have same length of a pocket width (P) at both the first end and the second end of the base piece, and

wherein the band has a band width (B) that is a half of the pocket width, the band width resulting from gradually decreasing the pocket width (P) in a predefined angle symmetrically on both sides of the band.

16. A method for making a reversible pocket wrap comprising:

constructing a base piece, said base piece comprising a first pocket area on a first end of the base piece, a band area immediately adjacent to the first pocket area, and a second pocket area immediately adjacent to the band area at a second end of the base piece,

wherein the first pocket area has a first edge, a second edge and a third edge, a first face and a second opposite face and the second pocket area has a first edge, a second edge and a third edge, respectively corresponding to the first edge, the second edge and the third edge of the first pocket area,

wherein the first edge, the second edge, and the third edge of the first pocket area and the first edge, the second edge, and the third edge of the second pocket area have same length of a pocket width (P) at both the first end and the second end of the base piece, and

wherein the band area has a band width (B) that is a half of the pocket width, the band width resulting from gradually decreasing the pocket width (P) in a predefined angle symmetrically on both sides of the band area.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein said constructing is selected from the group consisting of knitting the base piece with a yarn, cutting the base piece from a flexible fabric material, and a combination thereof.

18. The method of claim 16, the method further comprising:

determining that a pocket of the reversible pocket wrap is right-handed;

folding the first pocket area of the base piece downward in an angle that disposes the second edge and the third edge of the first pocket area to form a V-shape in front of the band area;

folding the second pocket area of the base piece over the folded first pocket area such that the second edge of the second pocket area is aligned with the third edge of the folded first pocket area and such that the third edge of the second pocket area is aligned with the second edge of the folded first pocket area; and

attaching the first pocket area and the second pocket area along the aligned second edge and the aligned third edge of the second pocket area such that a cavity between the first pocket area and the second pocket area formed by two attached edges resulting from said attaching hold articles, wherein said attaching is selected from the group consisting of sewing the base piece with a thread, applying a chemical bonding agent, coupling with a closing mechanism, and a combination thereof, pursuant to the material of the base piece.

19. The method of claim 16, the method further comprising:

determining that a pocket of the reversible pocket wrap is left-handed;

folding the second pocket area of the base piece downward in an angle that disposes the second edge and the third edge of the second pocket area to form a V-shape in front of the band area;

folding the first pocket area of the base piece over the folded second pocket area such that the second edge of the first pocket area is aligned with the third edge of the folded second pocket area and such that the third edge of the first pocket area is aligned with the second edge of the folded second pocket area; and

attaching the first pocket area and the second pocket area along the aligned second edge and the aligned third edge of the first pocket area such that a cavity between the first pocket area and the second pocket area formed by two attached edges resulting from said attaching hold articles, wherein said attaching is selected from the group consisting of sewing the base piece with a thread, applying a chemical bonding agent, coupling with a closing mechanism, and a combination thereof, pursuant to the material of the base piece.
