1. A distributed channel hopping method in a wireless ad-hoc network, the method comprising:

  • at a node that is to access the wireless ad-hoc network, receiving beacons of a plurality of nodes included in the wireless ad-hoc network through a channel scanning process;

    obtaining information from the received beacons about offset values used by a plurality of neighboring nodes of the first node within collision range;

    determining a first offset value to be used by the first node based on the information about the offset values used by the plurality of neighboring nodes; and

    transmitting a message including the first offset value to the plurality of neighboring nodes and determining whether any one of the plurality of neighboring nodes uses the first offset value.
