Abstract

An input apparatus includes, a display unit that causes a plurality of display screens on which images are to be displayed to display the images, a input detecting unit that detects a first input on a first display screen, a second input on the first display screen, and a third input on a second display screen, a position acquiring unit that acquires a first position, a second position and a third position, a start-position estimating unit that estimates a start position of an associated operation on the second display screen, and a continuity determining unit that determines whether the third input is the associated operation based upon the third position and the start position.

Claims

1. An input apparatus comprising:

a display unit that causes a plurality of display screens on which images are to be displayed to display the images;

a input detecting unit that detects a first input by a user on a first display screen, among the plurality of display screens, a second input by the user on the first display screen, and a third input by the user on a second display screen different from the first display screen;

a position acquiring unit that acquires a first position where the first input is detected, a second position where the second input is detected, and a third position where the third input is detected;

a start-position estimating unit that estimates a start position of an operation on the second display screen, which is different from the first display screen, associated with an operation including the first input and the second input on the first display screen, based upon the first position and the second position acquired by the position acquiring unit and a first time when the first position is acquired; and

a continuity determining unit that determines whether the third input is the associated operation based upon the third position and the start position estimated by the start-position estimating unit.

2. The input apparatus according to claim 1,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position based upon the first position and the second position acquired by the position acquiring unit, the first time when the first position is acquired, and a second time when the second position is acquired.

3. The input apparatus according to claim 1,

wherein the continuity determining unit determines that the third input is the associated operation if the third position acquired by the position acquiring unit is within a certain range from the start position estimated by the start-position estimating unit.

4. The input apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

a start determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is started; and

an end determining unit that determines the operation is terminated,

wherein the position acquiring unit acquires the first position as a position where the operation is started and the second position as a position where the operation is terminated.

5. The input apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

a vector calculating unit that calculates an input vector from the first position to the second position based upon the first position and the second position acquired by the position acquiring unit; and

a timer unit that acquires a time from the first input to the second input,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position based upon the calculated input vector and the acquired time.

6. The input apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

an end determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is terminated; and

a timer unit that measures an elapsed time since the end determining unit determines that the operation on the first display screen is terminated,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position based upon the elapsed time measured by the timer unit, and

wherein the display unit displays a certain image on the second display screen based upon the start position.

7. The input apparatus according to claim 5, further comprising:

a start determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is started; and

an end determining unit that determines the operation is terminated,

wherein the vector calculating unit calculates the input vector of the operation based upon the second position at end of the operation and the first position where the first input is applied a certain time before the second input if the end determining unit determines that the operation is terminated.

8. The input apparatus according to claim 5, further comprising:

a start determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is started; and

an end determining unit that determines the operation is terminated,

wherein the vector calculating unit calculates the input vector of the operation based upon the second position at end of the operation and the first position corresponding to the first input applied within a certain distance from the second position if the end determining unit determines that the operation is terminated.

9. The input apparatus according to claim 8,

wherein the display unit displays the certain image indicating a certain area around the start position.

10. The input apparatus according to claim 2,

wherein the continuity determining unit determines that the third input is the associated operation if the third position acquired by the position acquiring unit is within a certain range from the start position estimated by the start-position estimating unit.

11. The input apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising:

a start determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is started; and

an end determining unit that determines the operation is terminated,

wherein the position acquiring unit acquires the first position as a position where the operation is started and the second position as a position where the operation is terminated.

12. The input apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising:

a vector calculating unit that calculates an input vector from the first position to the second position based upon the first position and the second position acquired by the position acquiring unit; and

a timer unit that acquires a time from the first input to the second input,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position on the basis of the calculated input vector and the acquired time.

13. The input apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising:

an end determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is terminated; and

a timer unit that measures an elapsed time since the end determining unit determines that the operation on the first display screen is terminated,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position based upon the elapsed time measured by the timer unit, and

wherein the display unit displays a certain image on the second display screen based upon the start position.

14. The input apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising:

a start determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is started; and

an end determining unit that determines the operation is terminated,

wherein the position acquiring unit acquires the first position as a position where the operation is started and the second position as a position where the operation is terminated.

15. The input apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising:

a vector calculating unit that calculates an input vector from the first position to the second position based upon the first position and the second position acquired by the position acquiring unit; and

a timer unit that acquires a time from the first input to the second input,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position based upon the calculated input vector and the acquired time.

16. The input apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising:

an end determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is terminated; and

a timer unit that measures an elapsed time since the end determining unit determines that the operation on the first display screen is terminated,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position on the basis of the elapsed time measured by the timer unit, and

wherein the display unit displays a certain image on the second display screen on the basis of the start position.

17. The input apparatus according to claim 4, further comprising:

a vector calculating unit that calculates an input vector from the first position to the second position based upon the first position and the second position acquired by the position acquiring unit; and

a timer unit that acquires a time from the first input to the second input,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position based upon the calculated input vector and the acquired time.

18. The input apparatus according to claim 4, further comprising:

an end determining unit that determines the operation including the first input and the second input is terminated; and

a timer unit that measures an elapsed time since the end determining unit determines that the operation on the first display screen is terminated,

wherein the start-position estimating unit estimates the start position based upon the elapsed time measured by the timer unit, and

wherein the display unit displays a certain image on the second display screen based upon the start position.

19. A storage medium storing an input program that causes a computer to execute:

causing a plurality of display screens on which images are to be displayed to display the images;

detecting a first input by a user on a first display screen, among the plurality of display screens;

detecting a second input on the first display screen;

acquiring a first position where the first input is detected;

acquiring a second position where the second input is detected;

estimating a start position of an operation on a second display screen, which is different form the first display screen, associated with an operation including the first input and the second input on the first display screen, based upon the acquired first and second positions and a first time when the first position is acquired;

detecting a third input on the second display screen;

acquiring a third position where the third input is detected; and

determining whether the third input is the associated operation based upon the third position and the estimated start position.

20. An input determining method executed by a computer, the method comprising:

causing a plurality of display screens on which images are to be displayed to display the images;

detecting a first input by a user on a first display screen, among the plurality of display screens;

detecting a second input on the first display screen;

acquiring a first position where the first input is detected;

acquiring a second position where the second input is detected;

estimating a start position of the operation on a second display screen, which is different from the first display screen, associated with an operation including the first input and the second input on first display screen, based upon the acquired first and second positions and a first time when the first position is acquired;

detecting a third input on the second display screen;

acquiring a third position where the third input is detected; and

determining whether the third input is the associated operation based upon the third position and the estimated start position.
