1. A wireless microwave power transmitter comprising:
- a controller and a phased array antenna having at least one microwave array transceiver for transmitting a microwave power transmission signal, the transceiver being adaptively-phased by the controller to transmit the power transmission signal at a first phase;
the transceiver further operable to receive a calibration signal from a device to be charged and detect a second phase at which the calibration signal is received by the receiver;
the controller further configured to adjust the first phase for use in transmitting the power transmission signal to be the same as the second phase wherein the second phase indicates whether an optimal phase for the power transmission signal to be transmitted to the device to be charged; and
wherein the power transmission signal is transmitted without receiving a location signal from the device to be charged that indicates the location of the device to be charged.

Abstract
The wireless power transmission is a system for providing wireless charging and/or primary power to electronic/electrical devices via microwave energy. The microwave energy is focused to a location in response to receiving a beacon signal from a beacon device by a power transmitter having one or more adaptively-phased microwave array emitters. Rectennas within the device to be charged receive and rectify the microwave energy and use it for battery charging and/or for primary power.
