Abstract

A method for processing a touch signal in a mobile terminal and a mobile terminal using the same are disclosed, wherein the method comprises: detecting a shaking of a mobile terminal by using a mobile terminal shaking detection sensor within a predetermined time from a touched time while a touch screen is being touched; and outputting an output signal based on the detected shaking.

Claims

1. A method for processing a user input in a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

detecting a touch input on a touch screen;

detecting movement of the mobile terminal while the touch input is maintained;

generating a signal based on the detected touch input and detected movement of the mobile terminal; and

performing a function according to the generated signal.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein generating the signal comprises determining a time between the detected touch and the detected motion of the mobile terminal during which the detected touch is maintained.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein generating the signal comprises determining whether an intensity of the detected touch is greater than or less than at least one predetermined threshold value.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein performing the function comprises performing a first function when the determined intensity of the detected touch is greater than the at least one predetermined threshold value and performing a second function when the determined intensity of the detected touch is less than the at least one predetermined threshold value.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein generating the signal comprises determining a position of the detected touch on the touch screen.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein determining the position of the detected touch on the touch screen comprises determining an icon on the touch screen that is touched.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein generating the signal comprises determining a size of an area of the touch screen that is touched.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein performing the function comprises either increasing or decreasing the display size of the determined area of the touch screen that was touched.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein generating the signal comprises determining a position of the detected touch on the touch screen and whether an intensity of the detected touch is greater than or less than at least one predetermined threshold value.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein performing the function comprises performing a first function when the determined intensity of the detected touch is greater than the at least one predetermined threshold value and performing a second function when the determined intensity of the detected touch is less than the at least one predetermined threshold value.

19. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller is configured to generate the signal by determining a position of the detected touch on the touch screen and whether an intensity of the detected touch is greater than or less than at least one predetermined threshold value.

The mobile terminal of claim 19, wherein the controller is configured to perform the function by performing a first function when the determined intensity of the detected touch is greater than the at least one predetermined threshold value and performing a second function when the determined intensity of the detected touch is less than the at least one predetermined threshold value.

11. A mobile terminal for processing a user input, the terminal comprising:

a touch screen configured to receive a touch input;

a movement detection sensor configured to detect movement of the mobile terminal; and

a controller configured to determine that the touch input is received on the touch screen and maintained while the movement detection sensor detects movement of the mobile terminal, generate a signal based on the detected touch input and detected movement of the mobile terminal, and perform a function according to the generated signal.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is configured to generate the signal by determining a time between the detected touch and the detected motion of the mobile terminal during which the detected touch is maintained.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is configured to generate the signal by determining whether an intensity of the detected touch is greater than or less than at least one predetermined threshold value.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein the controller is configured to perform the function by performing a first function when the determined intensity of the detected touch is greater than the at least one predetermined threshold value and performing a second function when the determined intensity of the detected touch is less than the at least one predetermined threshold value.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is configured to generate the signal by determining a position of the detected touch on the touch screen.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 15, wherein the controller is further configured to determine the position of the detected touch on the touch screen by determining an icon on the touch screen that is touched.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is configured to generate the signal by determining a size of an area of the touch screen that is touched.

18. The mobile terminal of claim 17, wherein the controller is configured to perform the function by either increasing or decreasing the display size of the determined area of the touch screen that was touched.
