1. A method for modeling communication connections in a multi-channel wireless communication system, comprising:

  • identifying a first parameter and a first operational characteristic of interest of a first one of the communication connections in the multi-channel wireless communication system, wherein the first parameter is associated with a configuration of the multi-channel wireless communication system, and wherein the first operational characteristic of interest is associated with the first parameter;

    activating the first one of the communication connections based on the first parameter;

    collecting data associated with the first parameter and the first operational characteristic of interest for the first one of the communication connections when active within a specified time period;

    applying a statistical technique to the collected data to establish a model for characterizing a second one of the communication connections; and

    validating the model to determine whether a difference between a prediction value of the first operational characteristic derived from the model and an actual value of the first operational characteristic is within a predetermined range of values.
