- an electrode structure comprisinga first conductive material, a second conductive material, and a dielectric material,wherein the first conductive material, the second conductive material, and the dielectric material are coextruded to provide an electrode structure having the first conductive material and the second conductive material electrically isolated by the dielectric material,wherein the first conductive material comprises a working electrode and the second conductive material comprises a reference/counter electrode, the working electrode comprising an analyte responsive enzyme disposed on, in or proximate thereto,wherein the electrode structure comprises a lumen, the lumen comprising a first opening, a second opening, and a lumen wall,wherein the dielectric material defines the lumen wall, and the first and second conductive materials are provided within the dielectric material; and
a medication delivery device coupled to the lumen and configured to deliver a medication through the lumen to the subject.

1. An integrated medication delivery device and electrode structure, comprising:

19. A method for delivering medication to a subject, the method comprising:

inserting an integrated medication delivery device and electrode structure into skin of a subject, wherein the integrated medication delivery device and electrode structure comprises; an analyte sensor comprising an extruded electrode structure comprising a first conductive material, a second conductive material, and a dielectric material, wherein the first conductive material, the second conductive material, and the dielectric material are coextruded to provide an electrode structure having the first conductive material and the second conductive material electrically isolated by the dielectric material, wherein the first conductive material comprises a working electrode and the second conductive material comprises a reference/counter electrode, the working electrode comprising an analyte responsive enzyme disposed on, in or proximate thereto, wherein the electrode structure comprises a lumen, the lumen comprising a first opening, a second opening, and a lumen wall, wherein the dielectric material defines the lumen wall, and the first and second conductive materials are provided within the dielectric material; and a medication delivery device coupled to the lumen; generating a sensor signal at the working electrode; determining the concentration of the analyte using the sensor signal; and delivering an amount of medication through the lumen to the subject. - View Dependent Claims (36)

37. A method for determining a concentration of an analyte in a fluid sample from a subject, the method comprising:

inserting a catheter having a catheter assembly into subcutaneous tissue of a subject using an insertion needle positioned inside the catheter; removing the needle from the subcutaneous tissue of the subject; inserting an analyte sensor into the catheter, wherein the analyte sensor comprises a first conductive material, a second conductive material, and a dielectric material, wherein the first conductive material, the second conductive material, and the dielectric material are coextruded to provide an electrode structure having the first conductive material and the second conductive material electrically isolated by the dielectric material, wherein the first conductive material comprises a working electrode and the second conductive material comprises a reference/counter electrode, the working electrode comprising an analyte responsive enzyme disposed on, in or proximate thereto; attaching the electrode structure to the catheter assembly such that a portion of the extruded analyte sensor is exposed to the subcutaneous tissue. - View Dependent Claims (38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52)
