Abstract

A method and system are provided for targeting specific users with specific requested actions to be performed by the user and verified by any methods on behalf of an advertiser within an Internet display advertising campaign. The system discloses techniques for receiving an advertiser'"'"'s requested actions and corresponding definitions of what constitutes a satisfaction of the action. The disclosure also details techniques for determining if and when and to what degree a requested action has been completed or satisfied by the targeted user, and details corresponding techniques for compensating the user and any other real or virtual entity who had contributed to the satisfaction of the requested action. The system implements a network of sensors that can aid in the determination of if and when and to what degree a requested action has been completed or satisfied. The network of sensors registers sensor recordings within a specialized sensor recording marketplace.

Claims

1. A method for operating a sensor recording marketplace, the method comprising:

receiving, at one or more computers, a sensor recording and a sensor recording model;

registering the sensor recording in the sensor recording marketplace;

receiving, at said one or more computers, a selection of the sensor recording from a client device that is coupled to the sensor recording marketplace; and

sending the sensor recording to the client device.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising at least one of:

receiving terms-of-use associated with the sensor recording; and

registering the terms-of-use associated with the sensor recording.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising receiving a satisfaction of the terms-of-use before sending the sensor recording to the client device.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the terms-of-use comprise at least one of:

a single monetary fee;

an ongoing monetary fee;

a subscription;

a registration;

an attribution;

a credit;

award points; and

travel miles credit.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising evaluating the sensor recording for satisfaction of the sensor recording model.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the sensor recording model is a requested action of a cost-per-action advertising campaign.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the sensor recording model is a requested action of a user-generated sensor recording request.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising evaluating the sensor recording to generate a confidence score that indicates a likelihood of one or more users selecting the sensor recording.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving a payment for the sensor recording from a user device that downloaded the sensor recording.

10. The method of claim 6, further comprising sending a payment to the client device for satisfying the requested action.

11. A system for operating a sensor recording marketplace, wherein the system is configured for:

receiving, at one or more computers, a sensor recording and a sensor recording model;

registering the sensor recording in the sensor recording marketplace;

receiving, at said one or more computers, a selection of the sensor recording from a client device that is coupled to the sensor recording marketplace; and

sending the sensor recording to the client device.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the system is further configured for at least one of:

receiving terms-of-use associated with the sensor recording; and

registering the terms-of-use associated with the sensor recording.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the system is further configured for receiving a satisfaction of the terms-of-use before sending the sensor recording to the client device.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the terms-of-use comprise at least one of:

a single monetary fee;

an ongoing monetary fee;

a subscription;

a registration;

an attribution;

a credit;

award points; and

travel miles credit.

15. The system of claim 11, wherein the system is further configured for evaluating the sensor recording for satisfaction of the sensor recording model.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the sensor recording model is a requested action of a cost-per-action advertising campaign.

17. The system of claim 15, wherein the sensor recording model is a requested action of a user-generated sensor recording request.

18. The system of claim 11, wherein the system is further configured for evaluating the sensor recording to generate a confidence score that indicates a likelihood of one or more users selecting the sensor recording.

19. The system of claim 11, wherein the system is further configured for receiving a payment for the sensor recording from a user device that downloaded the sensor recording.

20. The system of claim 16, wherein the system is further configured for sending a payment to the client device for satisfaction of the requested action.

21. A computer readable medium carrying one or more instructions for operating a sensor recording marketplace, wherein the one or more instructions, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform the steps of:

receiving a sensor recording and a sensor recording model;

registering the sensor recording in the sensor recording marketplace;

receiving a selection of the sensor recording from a client device that is coupled to the sensor recording marketplace; and

sending the sensor recording to the client device.
