1. A device for obtaining, storing and displaying traffic information in a user-selected geographical location region, the device comprising:
- an antenna for receiving digital data over the air;
a wireless receiver coupled to said antenna to receive the digital data from said antenna in a wireless network;
a first memory coupled to said wireless receiver for storing digital data received by said wireless receiver;
a display member coupled to said first memory for displaying an image based on the digital data stored in said first memory;
firmware and a processor for executing said firmware, said processor being coupled to control at least said wireless receiver and said display member; and
a single enclosure housing said antenna, said wireless receiver, said processor, said first memory and said display member,wherein the digital data received by said antenna includes traffic information associated with the user-selected geographical location region, and at all times when said device is in operation said device is operative for automatically and periodically receiving the digital data and displaying on said display member the traffic information associated with the user-selected geographical location region.

A device for obtaining, storing and displaying information from a remote server, the device has a modem for establishing communication sessions with the remote server. A memory coupled to the modem stores the obtained information, and a display is coupled to the memory for displaying the stored information. The device automatically and periodically communicates with the remote server for obtaining the information.

99. A portable device for obtaining, storing and displaying digital video data and for wireless communication in a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), said device comprising:
