Abstract
A communication device (8802), which can simplify various setting processes, transmits, to a server (8803) via a network, external device information received from an external device (8801) by using proximity wireless communication. The communication device (8802) includes: an antenna (8808) for the proximity wireless communication with the external device (8801); a proximity wireless communication unit (8809) communicating with the external device (8801) via the antenna (8808) to receive the external device information from the external device (8801); an external device storage unit (8813) storing the external device information received by the proximity wireless communication unit (8809); a registration information generation unit (8812) generating registration information to be registered in a database in the server (8803) based on (a) the external device information stored in the external device storage unit (8813) and (b) communication device information including communication device identification information for identifying the communication device (8802); and a server communication unit (8830) transmitting registration information to the server (8803) via the network.

12. A communication device that transmits external device information to a server via a network, the external device information being received from an external device by using proximity wireless communication, said communication device comprising:

an antenna unit for the proximity wireless communication with the external device; a proximity wireless communication unit configured to (i) perform polling to the external device via said antenna unit, (ii) receive a response to the polling from the external device by using the proximity wireless communication, and (iii) communicate with the external device after receiving the response, so as to receive, from the external device, the external device information stored in the external device; an external device storage unit configured to store the external device information received by said proximity wireless communication unit; a registration information generation unit configured to generate registration information based on (a) external device identification information and (b) communication device information, the registration information being information to be registered in a database in the server, (a) the external device identification information including identification information for identifying the external device, being encrypted by first encryption that the server can decrypt, and being stored in said external device storage unit, and (b) the communication device information including communication device identification information for identifying said communication device; an encryption unit configured to encrypt the registration information by second encryption that the server can decrypt, the registration information being generated by said registration information generation unit, and the second encryption being different from the first encryption; an access control information generation unit configured to generate access control information for accessing the server, from (a) the registration information encrypted by said encryption unit using the second encryption and (b) access information including address information of the server; and a server communication unit configured to register the registration information into a database in the server, by accessing the server via the network based on the access control information generated by said access control information generation unit. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)

22. A system comprising an external device, a communication device, and a server,
wherein said external device includes: -
a first antenna unit for proximity wireless communication with said communication device; and a modulation and demodulation unit configured to communicate with said communication device via said first antenna unit to transmit external device information indicating information of said external device to said communication device, wherein said communication device transmits the external device information to said server via a network, the external device information being received from said external device by using the proximity wireless communication, said communication device including; a second antenna unit for the proximity wireless communication with said external device; a proximity wireless communication unit configured to (i) perform polling to the external device via said antenna unit, (ii) receive a response toof the polling from the external device by using the proximity wireless communication, and (iii) communicate with the external device after receiving the response, so as to and (iv) receive, from the external device, the external device information stored in the external device; an external device storage unit configured to store the external device information received by said proximity wireless communication unit; a registration information generation unit configured to generate registration information based on (a) external device identification information and (b) communication device information, the registration information being information to be registered in a database in the server, (a) the external device identification information including identification information for identifying the external device, being encrypted by first encryption that the server can decrypt, and being stored in the external device storage unit, and (b) communication device information including communication device identification information for identifying said communication device; an encryption unit configured to encrypt the registration information by second encryption that the server can decrypt, the registration information being generated by said registration information generation unit, and the second encryption being different from the first encryption; an access control information generation unit configured to generate access control information for accessing the server, from (a) the registration information encrypted by said encryption unit using the second encryption and (b) access information including address information of the server; and a server communication unit configured to register the registration information into a database in the server, by accessing the server via the network based on the access control information generated by said access control information generation unit, and wherein said server includes; a communication unit configured to receive the registration information from said communication device via the network; and a database in which the registration information received from said communication unit is registered.
