- accessing a character to be rendered;
identifying an observer characteristic, the observer characteristic identifying whether the observer has dichromatic vision or trichromatic vision;
based on the observer characteristic, selecting and applying a filter to the character to be rendered; and
displaying the character after applying the filter to the character.
