Abstract

A method for generating a preamble for a random access in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes: dividing a preamble sequence into sequence subsets each corresponding to each of a plurality of antennas; and generating a preamble by using the sequence subsets corresponding to each of the plurality of antennas. A method for generating a preamble for a random access supporting multiple antennas in a wireless system can be provided.

Claims

1. A method for generating a preamble for a random access in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

dividing a preamble sequence into sequence subsets each corresponding to each of a plurality of antennas; and

generating a preamble by using the sequence subsets corresponding to each of the plurality of antennas.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

transmitting the preamble to each of the plurality of antennas.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the sequence subsets are disjoint.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the preamble sequence is selected from a set of a plurality of sequences generated from a Zadoff-Chu (ZC) sequence.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the set comprises the ZC sequence and a sequence cyclic-shifted by cyclic shift unit from the ZC sequence.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

receiving information regarding the ZC sequence and information regarding the cyclic shift unit.

7. A method for performing random access in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

dividing a preamble sequence into sequence subsets each corresponding to each of a plurality of antennas;

generating a preamble by using the sequence subsets corresponding to each of the plurality of antennas, and transmitting the same; and

receiving a random access response including timing alignment information.

8. A method for generating a preamble for a random access in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

dividing a plurality of subcarriers into subcarrier subsets corresponding to each of a plurality of antennas; and

generating a preamble from a preamble sequence by using the subcarrier subsets corresponding to each of the plurality of antennas.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein each of the plurality of antennas transmits the preamble.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the subcarrier subsets are disjoint

11. A user equipment (UE) comprising:

a plurality of antennas; and

a preamble generator configured to divide a preamble sequence into sequence subsets corresponding to each of the plurality of antennas and generate a preamble by using the sequence subsets corresponding to each of the plurality of antennas.
