Abstract

In joining an Fe-based metallic member comprising an Fe-based material and an Al-based metallic member comprising an Al-based material by a Zn-based brazing filler metal, a joined part of the Fe-based metallic member is heated at a temperature higher than a melting point of the Fe-based material.

Claims

1. A method for joining a metal member comprising:

joining a Fe-based metallic member containing an Fe-based material and an Al-based metallic member containing an Al-based material by interposing a Zn-based brazing filler metal between the Fe-based metallic member and the Al-based metallic member; and

heating a joined part of the Fe-based metallic member at a temperature higher than a melting point of the Fe-based material at the joining.

2. The method according to claim 1, further comprising:

forming a groove shape by the Fe-based metallic member and the Al-based metallic member;

disposing the Zn-based brazing filler metal on the groove shape; and

positioning a center line of laser beam at the Fe-based metallic member side relative to a center line of the groove shape.

3. A joined structure of metal member comprising:

a Fe-based metallic member containing a Fe-based material and an Al-based metallic member containing an Al-based material, joined by interposing a joining layer containing Zn as a main component therebetween;

wherein the joining layer contains Al, and

wherein an intermetallic compound layer made of an Al—

Fe—

Zn system intermetallic compound containing Al as a main component is formed in an interface part between the Fe-based metallic member and the Al-based metallic member.

4. The joined structure according to claim 3,

wherein the joining layer has a shape fitted to the Fe-based metallic member.

5. A brazing filler metal used to join a Fe-based metallic member containing a Fe-based material and an Al-based metallic member containing an Al-based material comprising Zn, Si and unavoidable impurities.

6. The brazing filler metal according to claim 5,

wherein 0.25 to 2.5% by weight of Si, and the remainder being Zn and unavoidable impurities.

7. A method for joining metallic members comprising:

joining a Fe-based metallic member containing a Fe-based material and an Al-based metallic member containing an Al-based material by interposing a brazing filler metal containing Zn, Si and unavoidable impurities between the Fe-based metallic member and the Al-based metallic member.

8. The method according to claim 7,

wherein the brazing filler metal contains 0.25 to 2.5% by weight of Si, and the remainder being Zn and unavoidable impurities.

9. The method according to claim 7 further comprising:

heating a joined part of the Fe-based metallic member at a temperature higher than a melting point of the Fe-based material.

12. The method according to claim 8 further comprising:

heating a joined part of the Fe-based metallic member at a temperature higher than a melting point of the Fe-based material.

10. A method for joining metallic members comprising:

joining plural metallic members by a brazing filler metal using laser beam as a heat source;

using an Fe-based metallic member containing an Fe-based material and an Al-based metallic member containing an Al-based material as the metallic members;

using a Zn-based brazing filler metal as the brazing filler metal;

evaporating the brazing filler metal by irradiation with the layer beam;

forming a key hole by melting a joined part of the metal members; and

multiply reflecting the laser beam in the key hole.

11. A method for joining metallic members comprising:

joining plural metallic members by a brazing filler metal using laser beam as a heat source;

using an Fe-based metallic member containing an Fe-based material and an Al-based metallic member containing an Al-based material as the metallic members;

forming a groove shape by the Fe-based metallic member and the Al-based metallic member,

evaporating the brazing filler metal by irradiation with the layer beam; and

multiply reflecting the laser beam in the key hole.
