Abstract
An inbred corn line, designated AB7, is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of inbred corn line AB7, to the plants and plant parts of inbred corn line AB7 and to methods for producing a corn plant, either inbred or hybrid, by crossing inbred line AB7 with itself or another corn line. The invention further relates to methods for producing a corn plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic plants produced by that method and to methods for producing other inbred corn lines derived from inbred corn line AB7.

20. A method of introducing a desired trait into inbred corn line AB7 wherein the method comprises:
-
a) crossing the inbred line AB7 plants grown from the inbred line AB7 seed, wherein a representative sample of seed of said line was deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-______, with plants of another corn line that comprise a desired trait to produce progeny plants, wherein the desired trait is selected from the group consisting of male sterility, male fertility, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, disease resistance, waxy starch, water stress tolerance, increased amylose starch and increased digestibility; b) selecting progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected progeny plants; c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the inbred corn line AB7 plants to produce backcross progeny plants; d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the desired trait and physiological and morphological characteristics of inbred corn line AB7 listed in Table 1 to produce selected backcross progeny plants; and e) repeating steps (c) and (d) one or more times in succession to produce selected second or higher backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and the physiological and morphological characteristics of inbred corn line AB7 as listed in Table 1. - View Dependent Claims (21, 26, 27)
