1. A calibration device for calibrating a noninvasive sensor, the calibration device comprising:
- a blood model container comprising at least one recess disposed on its surface, the at least one recess configured to move past a non-invasive sensor in order to generate at least one parameter measurement;
a first portion of the at least one recess holding a first amount of blood model; and
a second portion of the at least one recess holding a second amount of the blood model, wherein the second amount of the blood model in the second portion is greater than the first amount of the blood model held in the first portion.

Abstract
A calibration device according to embodiments of the disclosure is capable of being used with a non-invasive sensor. Certain embodiments of the calibration device simulate a human pulse by varying the volume of blood being measured by the optical sensor. Further, embodiments of the calibration device allow the generation of calibration curves or data for measured parameters over larger ranges of measured values compared to patient-based calibration.
