Abstract

A method for storing a pre-designed digital template having a number of digital openings for displaying at least one digital image within each opening. Each opening has stored required image attributes associated with it for finding appropriate images to place in the opening. At least one of the non-primary image files has a satisfactory required image attribute score as computed by the computer system which is based on a required image attribute for an associated opening where an image of the at least one other of the non-primary image files will be displayed. The required image attribute itself is based upon at least one of the image attributes of the primary image file.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method of producing an image coordinated display product, the method comprising:

storing a pre-designed digital display template, the digital display template including a plurality of openings each for placing at least one digital image and each of the openings having a corresponding plurality of required image attributes;

accessing a plurality of image attribute files, each of the image attribute files comprising image attribute values corresponding to an associated image, and at least one of the image attribute files identified as a primary image attribute file;

identifying at least one other secondary image whose image attribute values satisfy the required image attributes and are correlated to at least one of the primary image attribute values; and

merging into the display template the primary image and the at least one other secondary image to form the coordinated image display product.

2. The computer implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

defining a range of image attribute values that, for at least one of the required image attributes, would satisfy the at least one of the required image attributes.

3. The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of identifying further includes the step of automatically searching a database of images for the secondary image having image attribute values that satisfy the required image attributes.

4. The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of displaying the display template with the primary image and the at least one other secondary image.

5. The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of displaying the primary image and the at least one other secondary image in a separate window.

6. The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of displaying the primary image and the at least one other secondary image as a list of image file names.

7. The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of providing a frame corresponding to the digital display template and disposing prints of the primary image and the at least one other secondary image in windows of the frame corresponding to openings in the digital display template.

The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of printing the display product having the digital display template with the primary image and the at least one other secondary image placed in openings of the template corresponding thereto, wherein said display product comprises one of the following:

an album page;

a print;

a shirt;

a label;

a mug, a screen saver, a sticker.

9. The method according to claim 4 further comprising the step of permitting a user to modify or replace the at least one other secondary image.

10. The method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of digitally storing as a computer accessible file the digital template with the primary image and the at least one other secondary image placed in their corresponding openings.

11. A computer implemented method for creating a coordinated image display, comprising the steps of:

providing a digital template for said image display, said template having a plurality of openings each having at least one required attribute, and at least one designated image for placement in at least one of said openings, said at least one designated image having at least one image attribute corresponding thereto and satisfying said at least one required attribute of said at least one of said openings; and

automatically searching a database of images each having at least one image attribute corresponding thereto for at least one more image for placement in one or more remaining openings in said digital template, each of said at least one more image satisfying said at least one required attribute corresponding to said one or more remaining openings.

The method according to claim 11 wherein the step of automatically searching further includes the step of automatically searching the database of images for at least one more image whose at least one image attribute also correlates to the at least one image attribute of the at least one designated image.

13. The method according to claim 12 further comprising the step of displaying the template with the at least one designated image and the at least one more image placed in their corresponding openings.

14. The method according to claim 12 further comprising the step of displaying the at least one designated image and the at least one more image in a separate window.

15. The method according to claim 12 further comprising the step of displaying the at least one designated image and the at least one more image as a list of image names.

16. The method according to claim 12 further comprising the step of providing a frame corresponding to the digital template and disposing prints of the at least one designated image and the at least one more image in windows of the frame corresponding to openings in the digital template.

17. The method according to claim 12 further comprising the step of printing an image product having the digital template with the at least one designated image and the at least one more image placed in openings of the template corresponding thereto, wherein said image product comprises one of the following:

an album page;

a print;

a shirt;

a label;

a mug, a screen saver, a sticker.

18. The method according to claim 12 further comprising the step of permitting a user to modify or replace the at least one more image.

19. The method according to claim 12 wherein the step of automatically searching further comprises [calculating a weight]/identifying a weight of each of said at least one required attribute and determining which of the at least one more image satisfies a higher weighted required attribute.

20. The method according to claim 13 further comprising the step of permitting a user to relocate at least one of said plurality of openings within the digital template.

21. The method according to claim 13 further comprising the step of digitally storing as a computer accessible file the digital template with the at least one designated image and the at least one more image placed in their corresponding openings.

22. The method according to claim 21 further comprising the step of transmitting the computer accessible file over a communication network.

23. The method according to claim 21 further comprising the step of printing the template with the at least one designated image and the at least one more image placed in their corresponding openings.
