CONDUIT DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR IMPLANTING A CONDUIT DEVICE IN A TISSUE WALL
First Claim
1. A system for implanting a conduit device in a tissue wall having a first surface and a second surface, the system comprising:
- an attaching device configured for advancing at least partially through a tissue wall, disposing at least a portion of the attaching device substantially between the first surface and the second surface of the tissue wall; and
an inner tube configured for extending at least partially through the tissue wall to establish fluid communication between the first and second surfaces of the tissue wall;
wherein the attaching device is configured to compress at least a portion of the tissue wall radially towards an outer surface of the inner tube.

Abstract
Various embodiments of the present invention provide a conduit device including an attaching device configured for defining a helical pathway through a tissue wall and complementary ring in cooperation for securing the device within an aperture defined in the tissue wall. Some embodiments of the present invention further provide a system for implanting a conduit device in a tissue wall. More specifically, some embodiments provide a system including a coring device for defining an aperture in a tissue by removing and retaining a tissue core and securely implanting a conduit device therein so as to provide fluid communication between a first and second surface of the tissue wall via the conduit device.

18. A system for securing in a tissue wall having a first surface and a second surface, the system comprising:
-
an attaching device comprising a coil or spring member, the spring or coil member configured for advancing along a radially-expanding helical path at least partially through a tissue wall, disposing at least a portion of the attaching device substantially between the first surface and the second surface of the tissue wall, wherein the radially-expanding helical path of the spring or coil member compresses at least a portion of the tissue wall radially inward; and an outer tube engaged with an approximate proximal end of the attaching device and defining a guide aperture extending axially therethrough; wherein the guide aperture of the outer tube is adapted for receiving an inner tube or an instrument therethrough for achieving fluid communication between the first and second surfaces of the tissue wall. - View Dependent Claims (19)
