1. A computer-implemented method of presenting on a mobile communication facility an advertisement in association with user datum, the method comprising the steps of:

  • (a) receiving at a server a request for an advertisement associated with a user-action initiated at the mobile communication facility operated by a user, wherein the user-action is associated with software that communicates data over a cellular telephony infrastructure provided by one of a plurality of carriers;

    (b) determining which of the one of the plurality of carriers is used by the mobile communication facility transmitting the request for the advertisement;

    (c) receiving information relating to one or more characteristics associated with the user, wherein the one or more characteristics are derived from datum from the carrier used by the mobile communication facility, wherein the datum comprises at least one or more of;

    (i) at least one demographic datum;

    (ii) at least one geographic datum; and

    (iii) at least one behavioral datum;

    (d) determining that the relevance to the user of a first advertisement is greater than the relevance of a second advertisement based at least in part on the information relating to the one or more characteristics; and

    (e) transmitting the first advertisement instead of the second advertisement for presentation on a display of the mobile communication facility.
