Abstract

A method of automatically selecting a number of secondary images and a display template for display with a primary preselected image based on analyzing the primary image'"'"'s attribute information and comparing the secondary images attribute information and the templates image attribute requirements. The attribute information is used to evaluate a compatibility of the images and template so that a best compatibility fit can be obtained when displaying the images.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method for generating an image template, the method comprising:

identifying at least one primary image file, wherein the at least one primary image file is stored on a computer accessible medium and each of the at least one primary image file is associated with corresponding computer accessible primary image attribute information;

selecting at least one secondary image file to be displayed in coordination with the at least one primary image file, wherein the secondary image file is stored on a same or different computer accessible medium as the primary image file, each of the at least one secondary image is associated with corresponding computer accessible secondary image attribute information;

selecting a digital template based on the primary image file, the template having a plurality of digital windows for disposing therein primary and secondary images from the primary and secondary image files, the template windows each having associated therewith required image attributes that are satisfied by the primary image attribute information; and

the step of selecting at least one secondary image file comprises analyzing the at least one primary image attribute information and the at least one secondary image attribute information.

The method of claim 1 wherein the primary image attribute information and the secondary image attribute information each contain weighted image attributes, and the step of analyzing comprises calculating a similarity score based on one or more selected weighted primary and secondary image attributes.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of identifying at least one primary image file includes the step of a user providing a primary image file containing the primary image.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of identifying at least one primary image file includes the step of a user providing a computer accessible location of the primary image file.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of analyzing comprises comparing primary image attribute information with secondary image attribute information.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of analyzing comprises comparing the primary image attribute information and the secondary image attribute information with a window recipe.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of selecting at least one secondary image includes a user providing a location or locations of at least one secondary image file.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of identifying at least one primary image includes the step of searching local image files containing the at least one primary image.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of selecting at least one secondary image includes the step of searching network connected image files for the at least one secondary image.

10. A computer implemented method for creating a coordinated image display having a plurality of images, comprising the steps of:

providing a plurality of digital templates for said image display each having a plurality of openings each for placement of an image, each of the openings having associated therewith required image attributes;

providing a primary image for placement in one of the openings, the primary image having associated therewith primary image attributes;

selecting one of the plurality of templates based on the required image attributes of one of its openings matching the primary image attributes defining at least one required attribute for each of the remaining openings in the selected template, said at least one required attribute defined so that it correlates with the attributes of the primary image; and

automatically searching image attributes corresponding to a plurality of images in a database of images for finding at least one of the images whose at least one attribute satisfies said at least one required attribute.

11. The method according to claim 10 further comprising the steps of finding more images than there are remaining openings and selecting from the found images a number of images equal to the number of remaining openings.

The method according to claim 10 further comprising the step of fabricating a frame corresponding to the digital template and disposing a print of the primary image and the at least one of the images whose at least one attribute satisfies said at least one required attribute in windows of the frame corresponding to openings in the digital template.

13. The method according to claim 10 wherein said coordinated image display comprises one of the following:

an album page;

a print;

a shirt;

a label;

a mug;

a digital file;

a sticker.

14. The method according to claim 10 further comprising the step of displaying the primary image and the at least one of the images whose at least one attribute satisfies said at least one required attribute in a separate window.

15. The method according to claim 10 further comprising the step of displaying said at least one of the images whose at least one attribute satisfies said at least one required attribute in a separate window.

16. The method according to claim 10 further comprising the step of displaying a list of names of said at least one of the images whose at least one attribute satisfies said at least one required attribute in a separate window.

17. The method according to claim 10 further comprising the step of displaying the digital template having the primary image and the at least one of the images whose at least one attribute satisfies said at least one required attribute in corresponding openings of the digital template.

The method according to claim 10 further comprising the steps of weighting at least some of the image attributes corresponding to the plurality of images in the database of images and selecting said at least one of the images whose at least one attribute satisfies said at least one required attribute and whose at least one attribute weighting is not exceeded by any other found image.

19. The method according to claim 10 further comprising the step of a user relocating within the digital template at least one of the plurality of openings.

20. The method according to claim 10 further comprising the step of digitally storing as a computer accessible file the digital template with the primary image and the at least one of the images whose at least one attribute satisfies said at least one required attribute.
