Abstract

A control unit for a mobile telephone includes a Web server adapted to connect to a Web browser in the mobile telephone, wherein the Web server receives information and provides the information to the Web browser when connected to the Web browser.

21. A method comprising:

executing a web server application on a mobile terminal, the web server application being configured to provide information, and

executing a web browser application on the mobile terminal, the web browser application being configured to obtain the information from the web server application.

22. A method of claim 21, further comprising:

determining to establish communications between the web server application and a client application over an air interface.

23. A method of claim 22, further comprising:

executing another web server application, wherein the client application interrogates information from the another web server application in the mobile terminal through the web server application.

24. A method of claim 22, wherein the web server application is configured to retrieve information from within the mobile terminal and to provide the retrieved information to the client application.

25. A method of claim 21, further comprising:

executing a medical server application that is configured to provide information via the web server application.

26. A method of claim 21, wherein the medical server application relates to glucose measurement, pacemaker, or medical emergency detection.

27. A method of claim 21, further comprising:

determining to retrieve the information that is to be provided by the web server application from a data source external to the mobile terminal.

28. An apparatus, resident within a mobile terminal, the apparatus comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory including computer program code for one or more programs,

the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least the following,

execute a web server application configured to provide information, and

execute a web browser application configured to obtain the information from the web server application.

29. An apparatus of claim 28, wherein the apparatus is further caused to:

establish communications between the web server application and a client application over an air interface.

30. An apparatus of claim 29, wherein the apparatus is further caused to:

execute another web server application, wherein the client application interrogates information from the another web server application in the mobile terminal through the web server application.

31. An apparatus of claim 29, wherein the web server application is configured to retrieve information from within the mobile terminal and to provide the retrieved information to the client application.

32. An apparatus of claim 28, wherein the apparatus is further caused to:

execute a medical server application that is configured to provide information via the web server application.

33. An apparatus of claim 28, wherein the medical server application relates to glucose measurement, pacemaker, or medical emergency detection.

34. An apparatus of claim 28, wherein the apparatus is further caused to:

determine to retrieve the information that is to be provided by the web server application from a data source external to the mobile terminal.

35. A computer-readable storage medium carrying one or more sequences of one or more instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause an apparatus within a mobile terminal to at least perform the following steps:

executing a web server application on a mobile terminal, the web server application being configured to provide information, and

executing a web browser application on the mobile terminal, the web browser application being configured to obtain the information from the web server application.

36. A computer-readable storage medium of claim 35, wherein the apparatus is caused to further perform:

determining to establish communications between the web server application and a client application over an air interface.

37. A computer-readable storage medium of claim 36, wherein the apparatus is caused to further perform:

executing another web server application, wherein the client application interrogates information from the another web server application in the mobile terminal through the web server application.

38. A computer-readable storage medium of claim 36, wherein the web server application is configured to retrieve information from within the mobile terminal and to provide the retrieved information to the client application.

39. A computer-readable storage medium of claim 35, wherein the apparatus is caused to further perform:

executing a medical server application that is configured to provide information via the web server application.

40. A computer-readable storage medium of claim 35, wherein the medical server application relates to glucose measurement, pacemaker, or medical emergency detection.
