Abstract

According to one embodiment, there is provided an information reproducing method. The method includes, from an information storage medium storing stream data having a plurality of advanced packs each including a resource file and an advanced ID to identify the resource file, acquiring respective advanced IDs, identifying respective resource files based on the respective advanced IDs, and reproducing the identified respective resource files.

Claims

1. An information storage medium storing a part of information,

another part of the information being recorded on a particular area which is not included in the information storage medium,

the part of information or the another part of information including video data,

the information including ID information,

the part of information and the another part of information being managed by management information,

the management information including first file information and path information relating to the first file information which indicate a location of the part of information,

the management information including second file information and path information relating to the second file information which indicate a location of the another part of information,

the management information being recorded on the particular area,

the management information corresponding to the ID information, and

the management information being used according to the ID information.

2. A transfer method for transferring management information or a part of information,

another part of the information being recorded on an information storage medium,

the part of information being recorded on a particular area which is not included in the information storage medium,

the part of information or the another part of information including video data,

the information including ID information,

the part of information and the another part of information being managed by the management information,

the management information including first file information and path information relating to the first file information which indicate a location of the part of information,

the management information including second file information and path information relating to the second file information which indicate a location of the another part of information,

the management information being recorded on the particular area,

the management information corresponding to the ID information, and

the management information being used according to the ID information,

the transfer method comprising:

receiving a request; and

transferring the management information or the part of information.

3. An information reproducing method for reproducing video data,

the part of information being recorded on an information storage medium,

another part of the information being recorded on a particular area which is not included in the information storage medium,

the part of information or the another part of information including the video data,

the information including ID information,

the part of information and the another part of information being managed by management information,

the management information including first file information and path information relating to the first file information which indicate a location of the part of information,

the management information including second file information and path information relating to the second file information which indicate a location of the another part of information,

the management information being recorded on the particular area,

the management information corresponding to the ID information, and

the management information being used according to the ID information,

the information reproducing method comprising:

reproducing the management information; and

reproducing the video data based on the reproduced management information.

4. An information recording method for recording management information on a particular area,

a part of information being recorded on an information storage medium,

another part of the information being recorded on the particular area which is not included in the information storage medium,

the part of information or the another part of information including video data, the information including ID information,

the management information managing the part of information and the another part of information,

the management information including first file information and path information relating to the first file information which indicate a location of the part of information,

the management information including second file information and path information relating to the second file information which indicate a location of the another part of information,

the management information corresponding to the ID information, and

the management information being used according to the ID information,

the information recording method comprising:

receiving a request; and

recording management information on the particular area according to the request.
