1. A method for treating a bone fracture comprising:
- inserting a lagwire system into said bone, wherein said lagwire system comprises an anchor and wire;
navigating said lagwire system to a desired position within said bone causing said lagwire system to ream a canal through a center portion of said bone and across said bone fracture;
removing said lagwire device; and
inserting a polymer wire into said canal such that said polymer wire bridges said bone fracture.

Abstract
A lagwire system and method for facilitating the fixation of bone fractures is disclosed. The lagwire system includes an anchor component, a wire, a sleeve and a cap. The sleeve and cap are operable to slide along the length of the wire and also operable to be used to fixate a fracture individually by using a canal prepared by the anchor and wire.
