Abstract

An apparatus, including an input device or receiver for inputting or receiving transaction information regarding a transaction which includes information pertinent to the transaction and information regarding a copy, image, photograph, or picture, of a document, form, draft, check, receipt, or other entity, offered, presented, submitted, processed, involved, or used, in the transaction, a processing device for processing the information pertinent to the transaction and which generates a notification message containing information regarding the transaction and the information regarding the copy, image, photograph, or picture, and a transmitter which transmits the notification message to a communication device associated with an account holder via, on, or over, the Internet, the World Wide Web, or a wireless communication network. The notification message is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer.

Claims

1. An apparatus, comprising:

an input device or a receiver for inputting or for receiving transaction information regarding a transaction on or involving an account, wherein the transaction information includes information pertinent to the transaction and information regarding a copy, an image, a photograph, or a picture, of a document, an authorization form, an authorization request form, a benefit request form, a claim form, a draft, a bank draft, a deposit form, a withdrawal form, a check, a form, a receipt, a request form, or other entity, offered, presented, submitted, processed, involved, or used, in or involving the transaction;

a processing device for processing the information pertinent to the transaction, wherein the processing device generates a notification message containing information regarding the transaction and the information regarding the copy, the image, the photograph, or the picture, of the document, the authorization form, the authorization request form, the benefit request form, the claim form, the draft, the bank draft, the deposit form, the withdrawal form, the check, the form, the receipt, the request form, or other entity, offered, presented, submitted, processed, involved, or used, in or involving the transaction; and

a transmitter, wherein the transmitter transmits the notification message to a communication device associated with an individual account holder, wherein the notification message is transmitted via, on, or over, the Internet, the World Wide Web, or a wireless communication network, and further wherein the notification message is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the notification message further contains a photograph, a picture, a video clip, a voice recording, or a voice print, of the individual involved in the transaction.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a credit card account, a credit account, a charge card account, a charge account, a debit card account, a debit account, a bank account, a checking account, or a savings account.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a healthcare account, a Medicare account, a Medicaid account, a pharmacy account, an insurance account, a healthcare insurance account, a life insurance account, or a disability insurance account.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is an employee benefits account, a tuition account, or a cafeteria account.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a healthcare spending account.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a subscription account for a good, product, or service.

8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a credit report account.

9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a cable television account, a digital television account, a satellite television account, a utility account, an electrical utility account, a gas utility account, or a fuel oil utility account

10. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a social security account.

11. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a liability insurance account or a lease insurance account.

12. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a telephone calling card account, a communication account, a telephone account, a wireless communication device account, a non-wireless communication device account, or a cellular communication device account.

13. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is an Internet account or an Internet service provider account.

14. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a brokerage account, a pension account, an individual retirement account, or a self-employed pension account.

15. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is an electronic signature or the account is associated with or corresponds to an electronic signature.

16. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is an account for monitoring use of an official seal, an account for monitoring use of a private, individual, or organizational, seal or access code, a security access account, a computer access code account, a facility access account, or a facility security account.

17. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a financial account, an electronic money account, or an electronic cash account.

18. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the account is a membership account, a ticket account, a club membership account, an entertainment membership account, an entertainment ticket account, a sports ticket account, a theatre ticket account, a concert or opera ticket account, a consumer or purchaser membership account, a sports club membership account, a health club membership account, a merchant credit account, an association membership account, a professional association membership account, or a trade association membership account.

19. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the communication device is a cellular telephone, a personal digital assistant, a wireless telephone, a personal computer, a laptop computer, a notebook computer, a netbook computer, a handheld computer, a television, an interactive television, or a digital television.

20. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

inputting or receiving, via an input device or a receiver, transaction information regarding a transaction on or involving an account, wherein the transaction information includes information pertinent to the transaction and information regarding a copy, an image, a photograph, or a picture, of a document, an authorization form, an authorization request form, a benefit request form, a claim form, a draft, a bank draft, a deposit form, a withdrawal form, a check, a form, a receipt, a request form, or other entity, offered, presented, submitted, processed, involved, or used, in or involving the transaction;

processing, with a processing device, the information pertinent to the transaction;

generating, with the processing device or with a computer, a notification message containing information regarding the transaction and information regarding the copy, the image, the photograph, or the picture, of the document, the authorization form, the authorization request form, the benefit request form, the claim form, the draft, the bank draft, the deposit form, the withdrawal form, the check, the form, the receipt, the request form, or other entity, offered, presented, submitted, processed, involved, or used, in or involving the transaction; and

transmitting, with or from a transmitter, the notification message to a communication device associated with an individual account holder, wherein the notification message is transmitted to the communication device via, on, or over, the Internet, the World Wide Web, or a wireless communication network, and further wherein the notification message is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer.
