Abstract

Disclosed herein is a wireless transmission system, including: a plurality of systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines capable of individually transmitting information in a millimeter waveband independently of each other; a sending section disposed on one end side of each of the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines; and a reception section disposed on the other end side of each of the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines. The sending section is adapted to convert a signal of an object of transmission into a millimeter wave signal and supply the millimeter wave signal to the millimeter signal transmission line. The reception section is adapted to receive the millimeter wave signal transmitted thereto through the millimeter wave signal transmission line and convert the received millimeter wave signal into the signal of the object of transmission.

Claims

1. A wireless transmission system, comprising:

a plurality of systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines capable of individually transmitting information in a millimeter waveband independently of each other;

a sending section disposed on one end side of each of the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines; and

a reception section disposed on the other end side of each of the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines;

said sending section being adapted to convert a signal of an object of transmission into a millimeter wave signal and supply the millimeter wave signal to said millimeter signal transmission line;

said reception section being adapted to receive the millimeter wave signal transmitted thereto through said millimeter wave signal transmission line and convert the received millimeter wave signal into the signal of the object of transmission.

2. The wireless transmission system according to claim 1, comprising:

a first communication apparatus including the sending sections and the reception sections accommodated in a same housing; and

a second communication apparatus different from said first communication apparatus and including the sending sections and the reception sections accommodated in a same housing;

a first system from among the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines being disposed between said sending section of said first communication apparatus and said reception section of said second communication apparatus;

a second system, different from the first system, from among the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines being disposed between said sending section of said second communication apparatus and said reception section of said first communication apparatus;

full-duplex bidirectional transmission being carried out between said first communication apparatus and said second communication apparatus using millimeter wave signals within a same frequency range for transmission and reception.

3. The wireless transmission system according to claim 2, wherein

said first communication apparatus is configured such that said second communication apparatus can be mounted thereon, and

said second communication apparatus is configured such that said second communication apparatus is mounted on the mounting structure of the first communication apparatus, in a state that said millimeter wave signal transmission lines are arranged for information transmission in the millimeter waveband between said second communication apparatus and said first communication apparatus, the millimeter wave signal into which the signal of the transmission object is converted is transmitted through the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines between said first communication apparatus and said second communication apparatus.

4. The wireless transmission system according to claim 2, wherein

the sending sections of said first and second communication apparatus include a multiplexing processing section for transmitting N signals (being a positive integer equal to or greater than two) of a transmission object collectively as a system of the signals by a time division process, and

the reception sections of said first and second communication apparatus include a unification processing section for transmitting the N signals of the transmission object collectively as a system of the signals by a time division process.

5. The wireless transmission system according to claim 2,

wherein the sending sections of said first and second communication apparatus include a multiplexing processing section for transmitting N signals (being a positive integer equal to or greater than two) of a transmission object as millimeter wave signals of different frequencies within the same frequency range, and

the reception sections of said first and second communication apparatus include a unification processing section for transmitting the N systems of signals of the transmission object as millimeter wave signals of different frequencies within the same frequency range.

6. The wireless transmission system according to claim 1, comprising:

a first communication apparatus including N such sending sections individually provided for N (being a positive integer equal to or greater than two) different signals of a transmission object, and

a second communication apparatus different from said first communication apparatus and including N such reception sections individually provided for the N different signals of the transmission object,

the N signals of the transmission object being transmitted simultaneously between said sending sections of said first communication apparatus and said reception sections of said second communication apparatus, which are individually disposed on the opposite ends of different ones of said millimeter wave signal transmission lines, using millimeter wave signals within the same frequency range.

7. The wireless transmission system according to claim 6, wherein

said first communication apparatus is configured such that said second communication apparatus can be mounted thereon and

said second communication apparatus is configured such that said second communication apparatus is mounted on the mounting structure of the first communication apparatus, in a state that said millimeter wave signal transmission lines are arranged for information transmission in the millimeter waveband between said second communication apparatus and said first communication apparatus, the millimeter wave signal into which the signal of the transmission object is converted is transmitted through the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines between said first communication apparatus and said second communication apparatus.

8. The wireless transmission system according to claim 1, comprising:

a first communication apparatus including N (being a positive integer equal to or greater than two) such sending sections individually provided for N different signals of a transmission object and N such reception sections individually provided for the N different signals of the transmission object, and

a second communication apparatus different from said first communication apparatus and including N such sending sections individually provided for the N different signals of the transmission object and N such reception sections individually provided for the N different signals of the transmission object,

the N signals of the transmission object being transmitted by full-duplex bidirectional transmission between said sending sections of said first communication apparatus and said reception sections of said second communication apparatus, which are individually disposed on the opposite ends of different ones of said millimeter wave signal transmission lines, and between said reception sections of said first communication apparatus and said sending sections of said second communication apparatus, which are individually disposed on the opposite ends of different ones of said millimeter wave signal transmission lines, using millimeter wave signals within the same frequency range for both of the transmission and the reception.

9. The wireless transmission system according to claim 8, wherein

said first communication apparatus is configured such that said second communication apparatus can be mounted thereon, and

said second communication apparatus is configured such that said second communication apparatus is mounted on the mounting structure of the first communication apparatus, in a state that said millimeter wave signal transmission lines are arranged for information transmission in the millimeter waveband between said second communication apparatus and said first communication apparatus, the millimeter wave signal into which the signal of the transmission object is converted is transmitted through the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines between said first communication apparatus and said second communication apparatus.

10. The wireless transmission system according to claim 1, wherein each of said millimeter wave signal transmission lines has a structure for transmitting the millimeter wave signal while confining the millimeter wave signal in the transmission line.

11. The wireless transmission system according to claim 10, wherein each of said millimeter wave signal transmission lines is a dielectric transmission line formed from a dielectric material having a characteristic capable of transmitting the millimeter wave signal.

12. The wireless transmission system according to claim 11, wherein a blocking member for suppressing external radiation of the millimeter wave signal is provided on an outer periphery of said dielectric material.

The wireless transmission system according to claim 10, wherein each of said millimeter wave signal transmission lines includes a blocking member which configures a transmission line for the millimeter wave signal and suppresses external radiation of the millimeter wave signal, and is formed as a hollow waveguide wherein said blocking member is hollow.

The wireless transmission system according to claim 10, wherein each of said millimeter wave signal transmission lines is formed by defining a transmission range of the millimeter wave signal in a circuit board made of a dielectric material on which said sending sections and said reception sections are mounted.

The wireless transmission system according to claim 1, further comprising an antenna connected to each of the systems of sending sections and reception sections and having strong directivity in the transmission direction but having weak directivity in any other direction than the transmission direction, said millimeter wave signal transmission lines being configured between said antenna in a free space.

16. The wireless transmission system according to claim 11, wherein said antenna having the directivity has the strong directivity in one of perpendicular directions in a two-dimensional plane and has the weak directivity in the other of the perpendicular directions.

17. The wireless transmission system according to claim 1, further comprising a housing in which the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines are provided and in which said sending section and said reception section are accommodated.

18. The wireless transmission system according to claim 1, wherein the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines are provided in a range of a circuit board, and said sending section and said reception section are mounted on the same circuit board.

19. The wireless transmission system according to claim 1, wherein said sending section and said reception section are accommodated in housings of different apparatus or mounted on circuit boards different from each other.

20. A wireless transmission method, comprising the steps of:

converting a signal of an object of transmission into a millimeter wave signal and supplying the millimeter wave signal to a plurality of systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines, which are capable of individually transmitting information in a millimeter waveband independently of each other, on one end side of the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines; and

receiving, on the other end side of the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines, the millimeter wave signal transmitted thereto through the millimeter wave signal transmission lines and converting the received millimeter wave signal into the signal of the object of transmission.

21. The wireless transmission method according to claim 20, wherein the transmission is carried out simultaneously through the plural systems of millimeter wave signal transmission lines with the same frequency.
