Abstract

A device receives, from a voicemail server, log information associated with voicemail transactions performed by the voicemail server, and determines data elements, of the log information, to be aggregated. The device also aggregates the determined data elements of the log information, determines a time period to provide the aggregated log information to a database for storage, and provides the aggregated log information to the database at the determined time period.

Claims

1. A computing device-implemented method, comprising:

receiving, from a voicemail server and by the computing device, log information associated with voicemail transactions performed by the voicemail server;

determining, by the computing device, data elements, of the log information, to be aggregated;

aggregating, by the computing device, the determined data elements of the log information;

determining, by the computing device, a time period to provide the aggregated log information to a database for storage; and

providing, by the computing device, the aggregated log information to the database at the determined time period.

2. The computing device-implemented method of claim 1, where determining data elements comprises one or more of:

selecting a response time of each of the voicemail transactions as a data element to be aggregated;

selecting failure messages, associated with the voicemail server, as a data element to be aggregated;

or

selecting backlog messages, associated with the voicemail server, as a data element to be aggregated.

3. The computing device-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

generating different levels of the aggregated log information based on a time or a type associated with the aggregated log information; and

providing the different levels of the aggregated log information to a reporting device for reporting with monitored information associated with the voicemail server.

4. The computing device-implemented method of claim 3, where generating different levels of the aggregated log information comprises one or more of:

generating thirty minute aggregated log information;

generating one hour aggregated log information;

or

generating daily aggregated log information.

5. The computing device-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving monitored information associated with the voicemail server;

generating a report, associated with operation of the voicemail server, based on the monitored information and the aggregated log information; and

providing the report for display to a user.

6. The computing device-implemented method of claim 5, where the monitored information comprises processor usage information, memory usage information, and response information associated with the voicemail server.

7. The computing device-implemented method of claim 5, further comprising one or more of:

storing the report;

or

providing the report to another device for storage.

8. The computing device-implemented method of claim 1, where the computing device comprises an aggregation server.

9. The computing device-implemented method of claim 1, where the log information comprises information obtained from log files produced by the voicemail server.

10. A computing device-implemented method, comprising:

receiving, by the computing device and from an aggregation server, aggregated log information associated with voicemail transactions performed by a voicemail server;

generating, by the computing device, different levels of the aggregated log information based on a time or a type associated with the aggregated log information;

storing, by the computing device, the aggregated log information and the different levels of the aggregated log information in a database; and

providing, by the computing device, the different levels of the aggregated log information to a reporting device for reporting with monitored information associated with the voicemail server.

11. The computing device-implemented method of claim 10, where generating different levels of the aggregated log information comprises one or more of:

generating thirty minute aggregated log information;

generating one hour aggregated log information;

or

generating daily aggregated log information.

12. The computing device-implemented method of claim 10, where the computing device comprises a database server.

13. The computing device-implemented method of claim 10, where the computing device comprises one or more storage devices that store the database.

14. A device, comprising:

a memory to store a plurality of instructions; and

a processor to execute instructions in the memory to;

receive, from a voicemail server, log information associated with voicemail transactions performed by the voicemail server,

determine data elements, of the log information, to be aggregated,

aggregate the determined data elements of the log information,

determine a time period to provide the aggregated log information to a database for storage,

provide the aggregated log information to the database at the determined time period,

generate different levels of the aggregated log information based on a time or a type associated with the aggregated log information, and

provide the different levels of the aggregated log information to a reporting device for reporting with monitored information associated with the voicemail server.

15. The device of claim 14, where the determined data elements comprises one or more of:

a response time of each of the voicemail transactions,

failure messages associated with the voicemail server, or

backlog messages associated with the voicemail server.

16. The device of claim 14, where the different levels of the aggregated log information comprises one or more of:

thirty minute aggregated log information,

one hour aggregated log information, or

daily aggregated log information.

17. The device of claim 14, where the processor is further to execute instructions in the memory to:

receive monitored information associated with the voicemail server,

generate a report, associated with operation of the voicemail server, based on the monitored information and the aggregated log information, and

provide the report for display to a user.

18. The device of claim 17, where the monitored information comprises processor usage information, memory usage information, and response information associated with the voicemail server.

19. The device of claim 17, where the processor is further to execute instructions in the memory to one or more of:

store the report, or

provide the report to another device for storage.

20. The device of claim 14, where the log information comprises information obtained from log files produced by the voicemail server.

21. The device of claim 14, where the different levels of the aggregated log information are selected and retrieved by the reporting device.

22. A system, comprising:

an aggregation server to;

receive, from a voicemail server, log information associated with voicemail transactions performed by the voicemail server,

determine data elements, of the log information, to be aggregated,

aggregate the determined data elements of the log information,

determine a time period to provide the aggregated log information to a database server, and

provide the aggregated log information to the database server at the determined time period;

the database server to;

receive the aggregated log information from the aggregation server,

store the aggregated log information,

generate different levels of the aggregated log information based on a time or a type associated with the aggregated log information, and

provide the different levels of the aggregated log information to a reporting device; and

the reporting device to;

receive the different levels of the aggregated log information,

receive monitored information associated with the voicemail server,

generate a report, associated with operation of the voicemail server, based on the monitored information and the different levels of the aggregated log information, and

provide the report for display to a user.

23. The system of claim 22, where the monitored information comprises processor usage information, memory usage information, and response information associated with the voicemail server.

24. The system of claim 22, where the determined data elements comprises one or more of:

a response time of each of the voicemail transactions,

failure messages associated with the voicemail server, or

backlog messages associated with the voicemail server.

25. The system of claim 22, where the different levels of the aggregated log information comprises one or more of:

thirty minute aggregated log information,

one hour aggregated log information, or

daily aggregated log information.
