Abstract

A drape, such as but not limited to, a drape that can be used to cover a C arm of a medical device is provided. The drape includes material, at least one cuff and at least one adhesive strip. The material has a select property and has a select shape. The at least one cuff is formed along at least one edge of the material. The at least one cuff is configured to allow manipulation of the drape by a user. The at least one adhesive strip is configured to selectively adhere the drape to a surface to be covered by the drape.

Claims

1. A drape comprising:

material of a select property having a select shape;

at least one cuff formed along at least one edge of the material, the at least one cuff configured to allow manipulation of the drape by a user; and

at least one adhesive strip configured to selectively adhere the drape to a surface to be covered by the drape.

2. The drape of claim 1, wherein the select shape of the material is a rectangle.

3. The drape of claim 1, wherein the at least one cuff further comprises:

a starting cuff configured and arranged to allow manipulation of the drape to a starting application location on the surface to be covered.

4. The drape of claim 1, wherein the at least one cuff further comprises:

a first side cuff formed along a first side of the drape; and

a second side cuff formed along a second side of the drape, the first and second side cuffs configured and arranged to allow manipulation of the drape about the surface the drape is to cover.

5. The drape of claim 1, further comprising:

indicia positioned on the material to direct at least one of proper unfolding of the material and proper handling of the material.

6. The drape of claim 1, wherein the color of the material is selected based on its intended application.

7. The drape of claim 1, further comprising:

tape portions to selectively retain portions of the material in a folded fashion while the material is applied to the surface to be covered to aid in the manipulation of the material and help maintain the material in a sterile condition.

8. The drape of claim 7, wherein at least one of the tape portions further having a perforation line that allows for a separation of the at least one tape portion to release a folded portion of the material.

9. The drape of claim 8, further comprising:

indicia on the at least one tape portion to indicate the perforation line.

10. The drape of claim 1, wherein the material is made from more than one material layer.

11. The drape of claim 10, wherein the more than one material layer includes a layer made of material that absorbs fluids and one layer of material that prevents absorption of fluids.

12. A drape comprising:

an impervious material layer having a first end and first and second sides;

a starting pocket formed along the first end of the material layer, the starting pocket having a starting opening configured to allow at least one hand of a user to be received in the starting pocket to allow for an initial positioning of the material layer on a surface to be covered;

a first side pocket formed along the first side of the material layer, the first side pocket having a first opening to allow a hand of the user to be received in the first side pocket;

a second side pocket formed along the second side of the material layer, the second side pocket having a second opening to allow a hand of the user to be received in the second side pocket, wherein the first and second side pockets allow for the positioning of the material layer on the surface to be covered; and

a plurality of adhesive strips configured to selectively adhere the drape to the surface to be covered by the drape.

13. The drape of claim 12, further comprising:

tape portions to selectively retain portions of the material in a folded fashion while the material is applied to the surface to be covered to aid in the manipulation of the material and help maintain the material in a sterile condition.

14. The drape of claim 12, further comprising:

indicia positioned on the material to direct at least one of proper unfolding of the material and proper handling of the material.

15. The drape of claim 12, wherein the drape has a shape configured to cover a surface of a C arm of a medical device.

16. The drape of claim 12, further comprising:

the starting pocket having a depth in the range of approximately 3 to 4 inches; and

the first and second side pockets having a depth in the range of approximately 2 to 3 inches.

17. A method of attaching a drape to a structure, the method comprising:

unfolding a first portion of the drape;

placing at least one hand in a starting cuff along an end of the drape in the unfolded first portion of the drape;

positioning the first portion of the drape in a desired location with the at least one hand of the user in the starting cuff; and

pressing an adhesive strip coupled to the drape on a surface of the structure to attach the first portion of the drape to the structure.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

unfolding a second portion of the drape;

placing a first hand of the user in a first side cuff along a first side edge of the drape of the second portion of the drape;

placing a second hand of the user in a second side cuff along a second side edge of the drape of the second portion of the drape;

positioning the second portion of the drape in a desired location with the user'"'"'s hands in the first and second cuffs; and

pressing an adhesive strip coupled to the drape on a surface of the structure to attach the second portion of the drape to the structure.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising:

unfolding a third portion of the drape;

placing the first hand of the user in the first side cuff along a first side edge of the drape of the third portion of the drape;

placing the second hand of the user in a second side cuff along a second side edge of the drape of the third portion of the drape;

positioning the second portion of the drape in a desired location with the user'"'"'s hands in the first and second cuffs; and

pressing an adhesive strip coupled to the drape on a surface of the structure to attach the third portion of the drape to the structure.

20. The method of claim 18, further comprising:

separating a tape portion to unfold the second section from the first section.
