Abstract

An infusion pump system is disclosed. The system includes at least one infusion pump, a companion device, the companion device in wireless communication with the infusion pump, and a user interface on the companion device, the user interface adapted to receive textual input.

Claims

1. An infusion pump system comprising:

at least one infusion pump;

a companion device, the companion device in wireless communication with the infusion pump; and

a user interface on the companion device, the user interface adapted to receive textual input.

2. The system of claim 1 wherein the textual input comprising customized names for at least one basal profile.

3. The system of claim 1 wherein the textual input comprising at least one customized comment.

4. The system of claim 1 wherein the textual input comprising at least one customized events.

5. The system of claim 1 wherein the user interface further comprising a pairing mode for pairing the companion device with the at least one infusion pump, the pairing mode enabling wireless communication between one infusion pump and the controller device, wherein the user interface requires both the infusion pump and the controller to be in the pairing mode simultaneously.

6. The system of claim 1 wherein the companion comprising a display.

7. The system of claim 1 wherein the at least one infusion pump comprising a display.

The system of claim 1 wherein the user interface includes at least one alarm setting for the infusion pump and the companion device, the at least one alarm setting may be selected using the user interface and wherein the at least one alarm setting for the infusion pump and the companion device may be different.

9. The system of claim 1 further comprising wherein the user interface residing on the at least one infusion pump.

10. The system of claim 1 wherein the user interface user interface comprising visual indication of a bolus delivery in progress comprising an amount delivered and a total amount requested.

11. The system of claim 10 further comprising wherein when the bolus delivery is stopped, the user interface further comprising a visual indication of delivery stopped comprising indication of the amount delivered and the total amount requested.

12. The system of claim 10 further comprising wherein the user interface further comprising a home screen comprising visual indication of insulin on board and last bolus delivered, the last bolus delivered comprising the time elapsed since delivery completed and the amount delivered.
