Abstract

A computing device includes a memory configured to store position data and images. The computing device also includes a processor configured to execute instructions to perform a method that includes receiving position data that represents the positions of a position tracking device over a period of time. The position data includes a group of position coordinates that represent a location. The method also includes receiving images that include a group of images associated with the location. The method also includes aligning the group of position coordinates that represent the location and the group of images associated with the location. The method also includes presenting a representation of the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images.

Claims

1. A computing device comprising:

a memory configured to store position data and images; and

a processor configured to execute instructions to perform a method comprising;

receiving position data that represents the positions of a position tracking device over a period of time, wherein the position data includes a group of position coordinates that represent a location;

receiving images that include a group of images associated with the location;

aligning the group of position coordinates that represent the location and the group of images associated with the location; and

presenting a representation of the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images.

2. The computing device of claim 1, wherein based upon the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images, the processor is configured to align additional groups of position coordinates and groups of images.

3. The computing device of claim 2, wherein the additional group of position coordinates are different from the aligned group of position coordinates.

4. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to store data that represents the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images.

5. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the representation of the alignment includes a graphical pin to represent the group of images.

6. The computing device of claim 1, wherein to align the group of position coordinates and the group of images, the processor is further configured to compare time data associated with the position coordinates and data representing the capture time of the group of images.

7. The computing device of claim 1, wherein for aligning the group of position coordinates and the group of images, the processor is configured to remove another group of images.

8. The computing device of claim 6, wherein the processor is further configured to apply an offset to the data representing the capture time of the group of images.

9. The computing device of claim 8. wherein the offset represents the time difference between at least two time zones.

10. A method, comprising:

receiving position data that represents the positions of a computing device over a period of time, wherein the position data includes a group of position coordinates that represent a location;

receiving images that include a group of images associated with the location;

aligning the group of position coordinates that represent the location and the group of images associated with the location; and

presenting a representation of the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

based upon the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images, aligning additional groups of position coordinates and groups of images.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the additional group of position coordinates are different from the aligned group of position coordinates.

13. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

storing data that represents the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images.

14. The method of claim 10, wherein the representation of the alignment includes a graphical pin to represent the group of images.

15. The method of claim 10, wherein aligning the group of position coordinates and the group of images includes comparing time data associated with the position coordinates and data representing the capture time data of the group of images.

16. The method of claim 10, wherein aligning the group of position coordinates and the group of images includes removing another group of images.

17. The method of claim 15, wherein aligning the group of position coordinates and the group of images includes applying an offset to the data representing the capture time of the group of images.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the offset represents the time difference between at least two time zones.

19. The method of claim 10, wherein the position data includes GPS data.

20. One or more computer readable media storing instructions that are executable by a processing device, and upon such execution cause the processing device to perform operations comprising:

receiving position data that represents the positions of a computing device over a period of time, wherein the position data includes a group of position coordinates that represent a location;

receiving images that include a group of images associated with the location;

aligning the group of position coordinates that represent the location and the group of images associated with the location; and

presenting a representation of the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images.

21. The computer readable media of claim 20, the operations further comprising:

based upon the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images, aligning additional groups of position coordinates and groups of images.

22. The computer readable media of claim 21, wherein the additional group of position coordinates are different from the aligned group of position coordinates.

23. The computer readable media of claim 20, the operations further comprising:

storing data that represents the alignment of the group of position coordinates and the group of images.

24. The computer readable media of claim 20, wherein the representation of the alignment includes a graphical pin to represent the group of images.

25. The computer readable media of claim 20, wherein aligning the group of position coordinates and the group of images includes comparing time data associated with the position coordinates and data representing the capture time data of the group of images.

26. The computer readable media of claim 20, wherein aligning the group of position coordinates and the group of images includes removing another group of images.

27. The computer readable media of claim 25, wherein aligning the group of position coordinates and the group of images includes applying an offset to the data representing the capture time of the group of images.

28. The computer readable media of claim 27, wherein the offset represents the time difference between at least two time zones.

29. The computer readable media of claim 20, wherein the position data includes GPS data.
