Abstract

To present the operating state of a tracing operation in the event of performing a tracing operation to scroll objects of display.

Upon a tracing operation being performed as to the operating face of an input detection device (1) provided on the display face of a display device (5), coordinate information indicating he instructed position corresponding to the tracing operations is output from the input detection device (1). A user interface control unit (2) detects the operation direction and amount-of-operation with the starting position of the tracing operation as a reference, based on the coordinate information from the input detection device (1), and effects control so as to change the display mode of operating symbols displayed on the display screen of the display device (5).

Claims

1. An information processing device comprising:

a display device;

instruction position detecting means with an operating face provided on the display screen of said display device, for accepting an instruction operation from a user and detecting and outputting coordinate information indicating an instructed position corresponding to said instruction operation;

detecting means for detecting, in the event that a tracing operation has been performed as to said operating face of said instruction position detecting means, amount-of-operation and operation direction with a starting position of said tracing operation as a reference, based on said coordinate information from said instruction position detecting means; and

operating symbol display control means for displaying operating symbols at predetermined positions of the display screen of said display device so as to change in accordance with tracing operations of a user, and also for changing the display mode of said operating symbols such that tracing operations of the user are recognizable, based on detection output from said detecting means.

2. The information processing device according to claim 1, wherein, in the event of displaying a plurality of operating symbols, said operating symbol display control means change the intervals between said operating symbols, based on detection output from said detecting means.

The information processing device according to claim 1, wherein, in the event of displaying a plurality of operating symbols, said operating symbol display control means change the display mode thereof such that said operating symbols are stretched or shrunk, based on detection output from said detecting means.

The information processing device according to claim 2, wherein, in the event of a tracing operation having been made, said operating symbol display control means effect control such that the closer to the edge portion of said operating face of said instruction position detecting means in the direction of the tracing operation, determined in accordance with the instruction position of the current tracing operation as to the starting position of the tracing operation, the operating symbols are, the narrower the intervals between adjacent operating symbols are made to be.

The information processing device according to claim 4, wherein, in a state before a tracing operation being started, said operating symbol display control means effect control such that the intervals between operating symbols situated in the direction of the tracing operation as to the starting position of the tracing operation are equal intervals.

The information processing device according to claim 1, further comprising scroll control means for effecting control for displaying display items to be scrolled on the display screen of said display device, and also obtaining the direction and acceleration of scrolling in the event of scrolling said display items, based on detection output from said detecting means, and scrolling said display items in accordance with said direction and acceleration.

7. An information processing method comprising:

an accepting process for accepting instruction operations from a user by way of instruction position detecting means with an operating face provided on a display screen of a display device, so as to accept an instruction operation from a user and detect and output coordinate information indicating an instructed position corresponding to said instruction operation;

a detecting process for detecting means to detect, in the event that a tracing operation has been accepted from the user in said accepting process, amount-of-operation and operation direction with a starting position of said tracing operation as a reference, based on said coordinate information from said instruction position detecting means; and

an operating symbol display control process to display operating symbols at predetermined positions of the display screen of said display device so as to change in accordance with tracing operations of a user, and also for operating symbol display control means to change the display mode of said operating symbols such that tracing operations of the user are recognizable, based on said amount-of-operation and said operation direction detected in said detecting process.

8. A computer-readable information processing program causing a computer to execute:

an accepting step for accepting instruction operations from a user by way of instruction position detecting means with an operating face provided on a display screen of a display device, so as to accept an instruction operation from a user and detect and output coordinate information indicating an instructed position corresponding to said instruction operation;

a detecting step for detecting means to detect, in the event that a tracing operation has been accepted from the user in said accepting step, amount-of-operation and operation direction with a starting position of said tracing operation as a reference, based on said coordinate information from said instruction position detecting means; and

an operating symbol display control step to display operating symbols at predetermined positions of the display screen of said display device so as to change in accordance with tracing operations of a user, and also for operating symbol display control means to change the display mode of said operating symbols such that tracing operations of the user are recognizable, based on said amount-of-operation and said operation direction detected in said detecting step.
