1. A method of delivering an item into the body of a subject, comprising:

  • providing an elongated delivery device having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the delivery device includes a flexible diaphragm having a proximal face and a distal face, wherein the flexible diaphragm is inverted to form a receptacle that holds an item to be delivered into the body;

    applying fluid pressure against the proximal face of the flexible diaphragm to evaginate the diaphragm and deliver the item from the receptacle and out of the delivery device into the body.
