Abstract

A laptop elevation device (1) that attaches to a bottom surface (13) of a laptop (12). Each laptop elevation device has a fold-up leg (2) pivotally or hingedly attached to a base (3). An arm (5) is pivotally attached to the base. When the laptop elevation device is in an open position, the arm may be folded downward to engage one of a plurality of holes (9) located on the leg, thereby locking the laptop elevation device at a desired height. The base may be built into a laptop or attached to the underside of an existing laptop using an attachment means (14). The leg may also have a layer of rubber (11) to prevent the leg from slipping while in use. A clip (11) located on the base locks the leg and arm in place while the laptop elevation device is in folded position. An alternative embodiment of the laptop elevation device provides a handle (17) for carrying the laptop computer.

Claims

1. A laptop elevation device for laptop computers, said laptop elevation device comprising:

a first base;

a first leg pivotally attached to the first base;

an attachment means located on the first base for attaching the laptop elevation device to a corner area of a bottom surface of a laptop computer;

a second base;

a second leg pivotally attached to the second base; and

an attachment means located on the second base for attaching the second base to a corner area of a bottom surface of the laptop computer opposite from the corner area where the first base is attached.

2. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

a height adjustment means located between the first leg and the first base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the first leg and the first base; and

a height adjustment means located between the second leg and the second base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the second leg and the second base.

3. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

an arm located between the first leg and the first base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the first leg and the first base.

a second base; and

an arm located between the second leg and the second base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the second leg and the second base.

4. The laptop elevation device of claim 3 wherein

said arm located between the first leg and the first base is an arm having a proximal end and a distal end attached to the first base at the proximal end;

said arm located between the second leg and the second base is an arm having a proximal end and a distal end attached to the second base at the proximal end;

pins are located on the distal ends of the arms;

at least one hole located on the first leg; and

at least one hole located on the second leg.

6. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

a rubber layer located on the first leg; and

a rubber layer located on the second leg.

7. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

a clip located on the first leg; and

a clip located on the second leg.

8. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said attachment means is an adhesive.

9. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said attachment means is a hook and loop fastener.

10. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said attachment means is double sided tape.

11. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said attachment means is interlocking strips.

12. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

a spring located between the first base and the first leg; and

a spring located between the first base and the first leg.

13. A laptop elevation device for laptop computers, said laptop elevation device comprising:

at least two bases;

at least two legs attached to the at least two bases by pivot points; and

a handle attached to the at least two arms; and

an attachment means located on the base for attaching the laptop elevation device to a bottom surface of a laptop computer.

14. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 further comprising:

a hollow portion located inside the at least one base; and

a slot located on the at least two legs.

15. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 further comprising:

a rubber layer located on the handle.

16. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said attachment means is an adhesive.

17. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said attachment means is a hook and loop fastener.

18. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said attachment means is double sided tape.

19. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said attachment means is interlocking strips.

20. A laptop elevation device for laptop computers, said laptop elevation device comprising:

a first base;

a first leg pivotally attached to the first base;

an attachment means located on the first base for attaching the laptop elevation device to a corner area of a bottom surface of a laptop computer;

a height adjustment means located between the first leg and the first base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the first leg and the first base;

a second base;

a second leg pivotally attached to the second base;

an attachment means located on the second base for attaching the second base to a corner area of a bottom surface of the laptop computer opposite from the corner area where the first base is attached; and

a height adjustment means located between the second leg and the second base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the second leg and the second base.

21. The laptop elevation device of claim 20 wherein:

said height adjustment means located between the first leg and the first base is an arm located between the first leg and the first base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the first leg and the first base; and

said height adjustment means located between the second leg and the second base is an arm located between the second leg and the second base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the second leg and the second base.

22. The laptop elevation device of claim 20 wherein:

said height adjustment means located between the first leg and the first base is an arm having a proximal end and a distal end attached to the first base at the proximal end;

said height adjustment means located between the second leg and the second base is an arm having a proximal end and a distal end attached to the second base at the proximal end;

pins are located on the distal ends of the arms;

at least one hole located on the first leg; and

at least one hole located on the second leg.

24. The laptop elevation device of claim 20 further comprising:

a rubber layer located on the first leg; and

a rubber layer located on the second leg.

25. The laptop elevation device of claim 20 further comprising:

a clip located on the first leg; and

a clip located on the second leg.

26. The laptop elevation device of claim 20 further comprising:

a spring located between the first base and the first leg; and

a spring located between the second base and the second leg.

27. A laptop elevation device for laptop computers, said laptop elevation device comprising:

a first base;

a first leg pivotally attached to the first base;

an attachment means located on the first base for attaching the laptop elevation device to a corner area of a bottom surface of a laptop computer;

an arm located between the first leg and the first base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the first leg and the first base;

a second base;

a second leg pivotally attached to the second base;

an attachment means located on the second base for attaching the second base to a corner area of a bottom surface of the laptop computer opposite from the corner area where the first base is attached; and

an arm located between the second leg and the second base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the second leg and the second base.

28. The laptop elevation device of claim 27 wherein:

said arm located between the first leg and the first base is an arm having a proximal end and a distal end attached to the first base at the proximal end;

said arm located between the second leg and the second base is an arm having a proximal end and a distal end attached to the second base at the proximal end;

pins are located on the distal ends of the arms;

at least one hole located on the first leg; and

at least one hole located on the second leg.

29. The laptop elevation device of claim 27 further comprising:

a rubber layer located on the first leg; and

a rubber layer located on the second leg.

30. The laptop elevation device of claim 27 further comprising:

a clip located on the first leg; and

a clip located on the second leg.

31. The laptop elevation device of claim 27 further comprising:

a spring located between the first base and the first leg; and

a spring located between the second base and the second leg.
