Abstract

A laptop elevation device (1) that attaches to a bottom surface (13) of a laptop (12). Each laptop elevation device has a fold-up leg (2) pivotally or hingedly attached to a base (3). An arm (5) is pivotally attached to the base. When the laptop elevation device is in an open position, the arm may be folded downward to engage one of a plurality of holes (9) located on the leg, thereby locking the laptop elevation device at a desired height. The base may be built into a laptop or attached to the underside of an existing laptop using an attachment means (14). The leg may also have a layer of rubber (11) to prevent the leg from slipping while in use. A clip (11) located on the base locks the leg and arm in place while the laptop elevation device is in folded position. An additional feature of the laptop elevation device is one or more non-slip strips (20) that attach to the underside of a laptop to allow the front portion of the laptop to hang over the edge of a flat surface (22) while the laptop is in an elevated position. An alternative embodiment of the laptop elevation device provides a handle (17) for carrying the laptop computer.

Claims

1. A laptop elevation device for laptop computers, said laptop elevation device comprising:

a base;

a leg pivotally attached to the base;

at least one non-slip strip;

an attachment means located on the base for attaching the base of the laptop elevation device to a bottom surface of a laptop computer, and

an attachment means located on the at least one non-slip strip for attaching the at least one non-slip strip of the laptop elevation device to a bottom surface of a laptop computer.

2. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

an arm located between the leg and the base for maintaining a predetermined distance between the leg and the base while the laptop elevation device is in an open position.

3. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

a height adjustment means located between the leg and the base.

4. The laptop elevation device of claim 3 wherein said adjustment means further comprises:

an arm having a proximal end and a distal end attached to the base at the proximal end;

a pin located on the distal end of the arm; and

at least one hole located on the leg.

5. The laptop elevation device of claim 3 wherein said adjustment means further comprises:

an arm having a proximal end and a distal end attached to the base at the proximal end;

a pin located on the distal end of the leg; and

at least one hole located on the arm.

6. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

a rubber layer located on the leg.

7. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

a clip located on the leg.

8. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said attachment means is an adhesive.

9. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said attachment means is a hook and loop fastener.

10. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said attachment means is double sided tape.

11. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said attachment means is interlocking strips.

12. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 further comprising:

a spring located between the base and the leg.

20. The laptop elevation device of claim 1 wherein:

said at least one non-slip strip further comprises at least one ridge.

13. A laptop elevation device for laptop computers, said laptop elevation device comprising:

at least two bases;

at least two legs attached to the at least two bases by pivot points; and

a handle attached to the at least two arms;

at least one non-slip strip;

an attachment means located on the at least two bases for attaching the at least two bases to a bottom surface of a laptop computer;

an attachment means located on the at least one non-slip strip for attaching the at least one non-slip strip of the laptop elevation device to a bottom surface of a laptop computer.

14. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 further comprising:

a hollow portion located inside the at least one base; and

a slot located on the at least two legs.

15. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 further comprising:

a rubber layer located on the handle.

16. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said attachment means is an adhesive.

17. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said attachment means is a hook and loop fastener.

18. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said attachment means is double sided tape.

19. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said attachment means is interlocking strips.

21. The laptop elevation device of claim 13 wherein:

said at least one non-slip strip further comprises at least one ridge.
