Abstract

Embodiments of the invention can provide systems and methods for providing a service-oriented user interface integration bus. According to one embodiment, a system can be provided having a memory for storing computer executable instructions and a processor in communication with the memory via a computer interface. The processor can be adapted to execute computer executable instructions and configured to receive a user interface service request from an application module associated with a first platform. The processor can also be adapted to transform the user interface service request from the application module to a user interface service request for a host platform. The processor can also be adapted to match the transformed user interface service request to a platform service to provide a visual interface with the application module to a user on the host platform.

Claims

1. A method for providing a service-oriented user interface integration bus on a host platform, the method comprising:

receiving one or more user interface service requests from at least one application module, wherein the at least one application module is associated with a first platform;

transforming the one or more user interface service requests from the at least one application module into one or more user interface service requests for a host platform; and

matching the one or more transformed user interface service requests from the at least one application module with one or more platform services to provide a visual interface with the at least one application module to a user on the host platform.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first platform and the host platform are adapted to operate with a common application framework.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the first platform is associated with a platform adapted to operate with a Java application framework.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the first platform is associated with a platform adapted to operate with a Microsoft.NET application framework.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the first platform is associated with a platform adapted to operate with a web-based application framework.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein at least one application module comprises a declarative application module, and the method further comprises:

receiving one or more user interface service requests from the declarative application module;

transforming the one or more user interface service requests from the declarative application module into one or more user interface service requests for the host platform; and

matching the one or more transformed user interface service requests from the declarative application module with one or more platform services to provide a visual interface with the declarative application module to a user on the host platform.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the one or more user interface service requests from the declarative application module are defined in a web services description language.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one application module associated with at least one of the following:

a Java application framework, a Microsoft.NET application framework, and a web-based application framework.

9. A system comprising:

at least one memory for storing data and computer-executable instructions;

at least one computer interface; and

at least one processor in communication with the at least one computer interface and configured to access the at least one memory, and further configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to;

receive one or more user interface service requests from at least one application module, wherein the at least one application module is associated with a first platform;

transform the one or more user interface service requests from the at least one application module into one or more user interface service requests for a host platform; and

match the one or more transformed user interface service requests from the at least one application module with one or more platform services to provide a visual interface with the at least one application module to a user on the host platform.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the first platform and the host platform are adapted to operate with a common application framework.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the first platform is associated with a platform adapted to operate with a Java application framework.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the first platform is associated with a platform adapted to operate with a Microsoft.NET application framework.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the first platform is associated with a platform adapted to operate with a web-based application framework.

14. The system of claim 9, wherein at least one application module comprises a declarative application module, and the at least one processor is configured to execute computer-executable instructions to:

receive one or more user interface service requests from the declarative application module;

transform the one or more user interface service requests from the declarative application module into one or more user interface service requests for the host platform; and

match the one or more transformed user interface service requests from the at declarative application module with one or more platform services to provide a visual interface with the declarative application module to a user on the host platform.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the declarative application module is configured to define the one or more user interface service requests in the web services description language.

16. The system of claim 9, wherein the visual interface is a graphical user interface.

17. The system of claim 9, wherein the at least one application module associated with the first platform is associated with at least one of the following:

a Java application framework, a Microsoft.NET application framework, and a web-based application framework.

18. A computer program embodied on a computer-readable medium for providing a service-oriented user interface integration bus on a host platform, the computer program comprising instructions to:

receive one or more user interface service requests from at least one application module, wherein the at least one application module is associated with a first platform;

transform the one or more user interface service requests from the at least one application module into one or more user interface service requests for a host platform; and

match the one or more transformed user interface service requests from the at least one application module with one or more platform services to provide a visual interface with the at least one application module to a user on the host platform.

19. The computer program of claim 18, further comprising instructions to:

transform the one or more user interface service requests from the at least one application module into one or more user interface service requests for the host platform when the at least one application module is associated with at least one of the following;

a Java application framework, a Microsoft.NET application framework, and a web-based application framework.

20. The computer program of claim 18, wherein the visual interface is a graphical user interface.
