Abstract

A method for updating a connection profile in a content delivery service by a dynamic content delivery (DCD) terminal, comprises: receiving, from a server, a connection profile update message including a connection profile; transmitting, to the server, a connection profile update confirmation message in response to the reception; transmitting, to the server, a session deactivation request message based on the connection profile; and transmitting, to another server, a session activation request message base on the connection profile.

Claims

1. A method for updating a connection profile stored in a mobile terminal, the method performed by a server and comprising:

providing, by a server, a content delivery service using a session between the mobile terminal and the server;

transmitting, by the server, a connection profile update message to the mobile terminal;

wherein if it is required to update information on a connection profile stored in the mobile terminal, the connection profile update message includes a connection profile name and connection profile information;

if it is required to delete the connection profile stored in the terminal, the connection profile update message includes the connection profile name without the connection profile information;

receiving, by the server, a connection profile confirmation message from the mobile terminal;

deactivating, by the server, the session established between the server and the mobile terminal; and

activating a new session with the mobile terminal using the updated connection profile information.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the deactivating step includes:

receiving, by the server, a session deactivation request message from the mobile terminal; and

transmitting, by the server, a session deactivation response message to the mobile terminal,

wherein the activating step includes;

receiving, by the server, a session activation request message from the mobile terminal; and

transmitting, from said another server, a session activation response message.

The method of claim 1, wherein the connection profile is a connection profile for a DCD-3 interface, the session deactivation request message is a Client Deactivation Request message, the session deactivation response message is a Client Deactivation Response message, the session activation request message is a Client Activation Request message and the session activation response message is a Client Activation Response message.

4. A method for updating a connection profile in a content delivery service, comprising:

receiving, by a mobile terminal, a content delivery service using a session between the mobile terminal and a server;

receiving, by the mobile terminal from the server, a connection profile update message during the session;

checking, by the mobile terminal, whether at least one of a name of a connection profile, a connection profile element and information in the connection profile element exists in the received connection profile update message, such that a update procedure for a pre-stored connection profile or a delete procedure for the pre-stored connection is to be performed according to the existence;

performing, by the mobile terminal and based on the checking result, the update procedure in which the pre-stored connection profile is updated with at least one value of the connection profile included in the received connection profile update message;

transmitting, to the server, a session deactivation request message; and

activating a new session based on the updated connection profile.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the update procedure is performed, if the name of the connection profile and the connection profile element exist in the received connection profile update message.

6. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

checking, whether the session is kept going to be used by a client application in the mobile terminal,

wherein the transmission step of the session deactivation request message when the session is not required.

7. The method of claim 4, wherein the connection profile is a connection profile for a DCD-3 interface, the session deactivation request message is a Client Deactivation Request message, and the session activation request message is a Client Activation Request message.

8. The method of claim 4, further comprising receiving, from the server, a session deactivation response message;

and

receiving, from said another server, a session activation response message,

wherein the session deactivation response message is a Client Deactivation Response message, and

wherein the session activation response message is a Client Activation Response message.

9. The method of claim 4, wherein the received connection profile comprises an address of said another server.

10. The method of claim 4, wherein the connection profile is located under an application profile.

11. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

transmitting, to the server, a connection profile confirmation message in response to receiving the connection profile update message,

wherein the step of updating and the step of delivering the connection profile confirmation message is performed in an interchanged order.

12. The method of claim 4, wherein in the step of updating the connection profile, an element or a parameter of the preset connection profile is changed based on the at least one value of the connection profile inside the connection profile update message.

13. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

if the name of the connection profile exists and the connection profile element is not present, deleting a pre-stored connection profile.

14. The method of claim 4, wherein if no element or no parameter is included in the connection profile inside the received connection profile update message or if only a name of the connection profile exists therein, deleting a pre-stored connection profile.
