Abstract
A three-dimensional sense adjusting unit displays three-dimensional images to a user. If a displayed reaches a limit of parallax, the user responds to the three-dimensional sense adjusting unit. According to acquired appropriate parallax information, a parallax control unit generates parallax images to realize the appropriate parallax in the subsequent stereo display. The control of parallaxes is realized by optimally setting camera parameters by going back to three-dimensional data. Functions to realize the appropriate parallax are made into and presented by a library.

149. A three-dimensional image processing apparatus comprising:
-
a parallax control unit which adjusts a parallax among a plurality of viewpoint images for displaying a three-dimensional image; and a map storage unit which stores an adjusting map to be referred to by the parallax control unit in adjusting the parallax, wherein the adjusting map includes parallax adjusting amounts varying depending on locations with respect to the plurality of viewpoint images, and the parallax control unit adjusts the parallax among the plurality of viewpoint images to become smaller at a periphery of the three-dimensional image to be displayed or adjusts the parallax among the plurality of viewpoint images so that an object at the periphery of the three-dimensional image is seen away from a user, in accordance with the adjusting map. - View Dependent Claims (150, 151, 152, 153, 154)

-
receiving a plurality of viewpoint images for displaying a three-dimensional image; and adjusting a parallax among the received plurality of viewpoint images, adjusting amounts of which vary depending on locations with respect to the plurality of viewpoint images, wherein the adjusting step adjusts the parallax among the plurality of viewpoint images to become smaller at a periphery of the three-dimensional image to be displayed or adjusts the parallax among the plurality of viewpoint images so that an object at the periphery of the three-dimensional image is seen away from a user. - View Dependent Claims (156, 157, 158)
