1. A method, comprising:
- receiving from at least one ambient light sensor a first measurement of an amount of ambient light in an environment;
receiving, from a user interface, a reference brightness level of a display device, the reference brightness level being associated with the first measurement amount of ambient light;
receiving from the at least one ambient light sensor a second measurement of an amount of ambient light in the environment, wherein the second measurement is not equal to the first measurement; and
automatically adjusting a current brightness level of the display device in response to the second measurement being not equal to the first measurement.

Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention can receive a data point defining an ambient light level associated with a display and a corresponding brightness adjustment of the display with respect to a reference brightness. The embodiments can then define a brightness response model for the display based on the data point and at least one additional data point.
