- preparing a first substrate and a second substrate;
forming a thin film transistor including a gate electrode, semiconductor layer, source electrode, and a drain electrode on the first substrate;
forming a pixel electrode connected to the drain electrode on the first substrate;
forming a color filter having a transmissive pattern with a plurality of periodic holes;
forming a sealant between the first substrate and the second substrate; and
bonding the first and second substrates to each other.
