1. A hemodialysis system comprising:
- an on-line dialysate generator;
a dialysate pump actuator configured to pump dialysate generated by the generator to a dialyzer;
a conductivity sensor located adjacent to a temperature sensor upstream of the dialyzer;
a blood pump actuator;
an air detector; and
a disposable cassette configured to carry dialysate pumped by the dialysate pump actuator, the disposable cassette including a conductivity sensor portion and a temperature sensor portion located to operate with the conductivity sensor and the temperature sensor, respectively, the disposable cassette further configured to carry blood pumped by the blood pump actuator and to provide an air detection portion located to operate with the air detector.

an on-line dialysate generator; a first dialysate pump in fluid communication with the on-line dialysate generator; a second dialysate pump in fluid communication with the on-line dialysate generator; a dialyzer in fluid communication with the first and second dialysate pumps; and a first valve located between the first dialysate pump and the dialyzer and a second valve located between the second dialysate pump and the dialyzer, the system configured to alternate pumping of dialysate from the first and second dialysate pumps to the dialyzer using the first and second valves. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18)

an on-line dialysate generator; a conductivity sensor operable to help ensure that dialysate delivered from the dialysate generator is properly mixed; a disposable cassette, the conductivity sensor operable with an area of the disposable cassette when the cassette is mounted for operation; a dialyzer connected to the disposable cassette for receiving properly mixed dialysate; and a cassette-based valve located between the conductivity sensor area of the cassette and the dialyzer. - View Dependent Claims (20)
